NATA 2020 Exam Pattern Changed – Council of Architecture (CoA) has changed the exam pattern for NATA 2020. There have been many changes in the exam pattern of NATA such as in the number of questions, duration, marking scheme, etc. All the test – takers can refer to this page to know the new and revised exam pattern for NATA 2020.
Latest: Due to COVID-19 the pattern of NATA 2020 changes. Here are the changes to note:
Part A of the exam, the drawing part which was an offline exam will be now held in online mode.
This part will not be a paper-based drawing test but as a preferential choice type test which is to be answered on a computer/laptop.

NATA 2020 Exam Pattern Changed!
The new National Aptitude Test in Architecture exam pattern indicates that there will be 60 questions of 200 marks. There will be two parts in the test, A and B. Part A will be drawing test with 10 questions of 125 marks. Part B will be PCM, General Aptitude and Logical Reasoning test with 50 questions of 75 marks.
Mode of answering: Both part A and part B are to be answered online.

Part A Drawing Section
There will be 10 questions of total 125 marks.
Part B PCM + General Aptitude and Logical Reasoning
In PCM, There will be 15 questions of total 22.5 marks. Each question will be of 1.5 marks.
In General Aptitude and Logical Reasoning, There will be 35 questions of total 52.5 marks. Each question will be of 1.5 marks.

NATA Exam Pattern 2020 in comparison with last year’s exam pattern
There have been major changes in the NATA exam pattern this year. Check the points given below for the same.
Duration: Earlier the duration is 3 hours 15 minutes. Now the Part A exam will be of 72 Minutes and Part B will be of 45 minutes
Name of the parts interchanged: In the year 2019, Part A consists of PCM and General Aptitude and Logical Reasoning questions and Part B was Drawing. As for this year, Part A is of Drawing and Part B consists of PCM questions and General Aptitude and PCM questions.
Total number of questions changed: The number of question in both the parts have changed. Earlier, there were 62 questions in MCQ but now there are 60 questions in total. In the drawing section, earlier there were 2 questions but now there are 10 questions in total.
Change in the marking scheme: In the year 2019, each question carried 02 marks. But for this year, questions in Part B carries 1.5 marks. Part A carries 2 questions of 35 marks each and 1 question of 55 marks. There is no negative marking in the exam.

About NATA 2020
National Aptitude Test in Architecture is a national level entrance examination conducted to offer admission in the five year Architecture course. The test is conducted twice a year. The test is conducted by CoA. Through this test, there is an assessment of drawing and observation skills, aesthetic sensitivity, critical thinking ability. Also, the questions are asked from the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
