The NIFT 2027 answer key is released by NTA only for the General Ability Test (GAT), because the CAT is a drawing test marked by experts. The provisional key, with your recorded responses, is expected in January 2027 after the 10 January exam. In 2026 it came out on 17 February 2026.

How to Download the NIFT 2027 Answer Key
- Go to exams.nta.nic.in/niftee after the exam.
- Click the link to view the provisional answer key and recorded responses.
- Log in with your application number and password.
- Open the question paper with your recorded responses and the provisional key.
- Note the question IDs where you think the key is wrong.
How can you challenge the NIFT answer key?
You can challenge the provisional GAT key online for a non-refundable fee of Rs 200 per question, as in 2026. In 2026 the window was 17 to 19 February 2026, up to 11:50 PM.
- Log in on exams.nta.nic.in/niftee during the challenge window.
- Select the question ID and the option you think is correct.
- Upload supporting documents, if you have any.
- Pay Rs 200 per question by debit card, credit card, net banking or UPI.
- Submit and save the payment proof.
Experts review every challenge, and NTA then publishes the final answer key used for the result. In 2026 no answer was changed after the challenges.
How do you calculate your NIFT GAT score?
Your GAT score is the number of correct answers minus a quarter mark for each wrong answer.

Example: 70 correct and 12 wrong in the 100-question B.Des GAT gives 70 – 3 = 67 marks. If NIFT changes a key to allow more than one correct option, only those who marked a correct option get the mark.
Why is there no answer key for the NIFT CAT?
The CAT is a creative drawing test with no single correct answer. In 2026 NTA scanned the CAT answer sheets and NTA and NIFT experts evaluated them digitally. CAT marks then counted with GAT marks for the Stage 1 shortlist, which you can check on the NIFT result page.
