The NIFT 2027 result comes in two parts on exams.nta.nic.in/niftee. The Stage 1 result, expected in February 2027 after the 10 January exam, shows if you are shortlisted for Stage 2. The final result, with your common merit rank, follows Stage 2. In 2026 these came on 20 March and 2 June 2026.

How to Check the NIFT Result 2027
- Go to exams.nta.nic.in/niftee.
- Click the NIFT 2027 Stage 1 result or score card link when it is live.
- Log in with your application number and password.
- Check your status: shortlisted or not shortlisted for the situation test, studio test or interview.
- After Stage 2, log in again for the final result and download it for counselling.
How does NIFT shortlist candidates for Stage 2?
NIFT shortlists about four candidates for every seat, category-wise and programme-wise, based on Stage 1 marks. PwD candidates must also score at least 50% of their category’s cut-off marks. B.F.Tech has no Stage 2, so its final result is based on GAT alone.
- B.Des: situation test (model making).
- B.Des lateral entry: studio test and personal interview.
- B.F.Tech lateral entry: technical ability test and personal interview.
- M.Des, M.F.M and M.F.Tech: personal interview, marked on five areas of 20 marks each.
What does the NIFT final result show?
The final result gives your Common Merit Rank (CMR) for each programme you applied for. NIFT uses the CMR, your category and your choices to allot seats. The rank comes from these weightages in 2026:

What is the expected NIFT 2027 cut off?
NIFT’s cut off is the closing Common Merit Rank at each campus and course; these are the 2026 Round 1 Open-category closing ranks at the two most sought-after campuses.

What happens after the NIFT result 2027?
After the final result, NIFT runs e-counselling at nift.admissions.nic.in. In 2026 registration ran from 15 to 22 June 2026, followed by three rounds and a spot round in July.
- Register on nift.admissions.nic.in with your roll number, set a password and upload your documents.
- Fill and lock your campus and course choices.
- Check your seat allotment in each round and pay the academic fee to accept the seat.
- Choose whether to stay with the seat or be considered for higher choices in later rounds.
- Join the spot round if you still need a seat; in 2026 its participation fee was Rs 5,000, non-refundable.
In 2026 candidates who withdrew by 17 July 2026 got their fee back except the registration fee; later withdrawals got only the security deposit back.
