Odisha NEET Counselling 2026 Important Dates
Three rounds of Odisha NEET counselling 2026 are over, and OJEE will publish the stray vacancy round schedule on ojee.nic.in. In 2026 the process ran from August to October, so the 2027 counselling is expected from August 2027, after the NEET UG 2027 result.

Is Odisha NEET counselling an exam? How does it work?
No. It is only a counselling process. You first qualify NEET UG, then register with OJEE, which ranks all registered Odisha candidates in a state merit list by NEET All India Rank. Seats are allotted in rounds on that state rank, your category and the choices you lock.
- OJEE fills 85% of the MBBS/BDS seats in government colleges and all seats in private colleges, including the NRI quota.
- The other 15% of government seats (All India Quota) and deemed university seats are filled by MCC through NEET counselling.
- Candidates who joined an All India Quota seat up to MCC Round 3 are filtered out before state seats are processed, as directed by the Supreme Court and MCC.

What happens after the Round 3 allotment and in the stray round?
After Round 3, every admitted candidate must join the allotted college within that college’s own reporting schedule, as OJEE’s notice of 14 October 2026 says. Upgraded candidates who had reported earlier download the final allotment letter and submit the bond or affidavit at the new college.
- A candidate allotted a seat for the first time in Round 3 cannot upgrade or resign. Not joining means exit with forfeiture and no further rounds.
- Freeze or Float chosen after Round 3 is used only for internal sliding, if needed, before the stray round.
- Candidates who took admission at the end of Round 3 (All India or state) cannot take part in the stray vacancy round. Unallotted candidates can.
- The stray round needs fresh registration and choice filling. If OJEE holds a spot round, you must attend in person; no authorisation is accepted.

How to Apply for Odisha NEET Counselling 2026 (registration and Choice Filling)
You register online on ojee.nic.in in the MBBS/BDS section, pay Rs 1,000 and upload your documents for online verification. Only verified candidates enter the state merit list and can fill choices. The steps follow the OJEE 2026 guidelines.

The Odisha NEET Counselling 2026 application window (6 to 10 August 2026) has closed.
- Open the OJEE MBBS/BDS counselling page and click New Candidate Registration.
- Read the instructions, select I Agree, and enter your NEET UG 2026 application number, name, date of birth, gender and the security pin, exactly as on your NEET rank card.
- Add your mobile number and email ID, set a password and submit. Then log in again with your NEET application number as user ID and the password.
- Fill the form under Available Services, upload clear PDF scans of the original documents and pay the non-refundable Rs 1,000 fee online.
- Answer any query raised by the verifying officer within 24 hours, or your verification is cancelled and you are left out of the state merit list.
- When choice filling opens, add MBBS/BDS college choices in order of preference and lock them. Unlocked choices are locked automatically when time runs out.
The same login is used to see the merit list, download the allotment letter and choose Freeze or Float. Never share your user ID or password.

Hostel and other charges are collected by each college. If you resign by the notified withdrawal date, OJEE refunds 90% of the admission fee; later resignation forfeits the fee and attracts the penalty set by the state government.
Who is eligible for Odisha NEET counselling 2026?
You are eligible for state quota seats if you qualified NEET UG 2026 and are a permanent native of Odisha. The OJEE 2026 rules are:
- Age at least 17 years on 31 December 2026; no upper age limit.
- Permanent native of Odisha, shown by an online Resident or Nativity certificate, or a child of an All India Service officer of the Odisha cadre.
- Class 12 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology and English.
- NEET UG 2026 qualifying percentile: 50th for General, SEBC and EWS; 45th for General PwBD and EWS PwBD; 40th for SC, ST and SC/ST/SEBC PwBD.
- NRI quota seats in private colleges are open to NRI candidates from Odisha and from other states who meet the Supreme Court’s NRI sponsor rules.

Odisha uses SEBC, not OBC, and caste or EWS certificates must be issued online by the Odisha government. PwBD candidates are assessed by the Medical Assessment Board at SCB Medical College, Cuttack, and ES claims go through the Rajya Sainik Board, Bhubaneswar.

What documents do you need for Odisha NEET counselling 2026?
You upload scans of these documents at registration and carry the originals plus one set of photocopies when you report at the OJEE office:
- Class 10 certificate (proof of date of birth)
- Class 12 mark sheet and certificate
- NEET UG 2026 rank card
- Recent photograph
- Online Resident or Nativity certificate (proof of being a native of Odisha)
- Category certificate if claiming SC, ST, SEBC, GC or EWS (EWS certificate for financial year 2025-26)
- Bond on a Rs 21 non-judicial stamp paper in the government format
- Original College or School Leaving Certificate, deposited at reporting
- Admission fee, paid online or by demand draft
At the college you also need a medical fitness certificate. Giving false information cancels the admission and bars you from the process for three academic years.
