What does Current Affairs and General Knowledge cover?
This section tests news from the past year and general awareness, with 30 marks.
- National and international current events, including defence, economy and recent government decisions
- Indian Constitution and polity basics
- History, geography and the economy
- Everyday general science (the sample questions ask about chemistry, biology and physics facts)
- Banking and insurance terms
What does Legal Aptitude cover?
Legal Aptitude is the biggest section at 40 marks and checks your sense of law and legal reasoning, not formal legal training.
- Constitution of India: Fundamental Rights, Articles and how the Constitution was drafted
- Basic legal concepts and terms from contracts, torts and criminal law
- Applying a legal principle to a set of facts
- Legal awareness: courts, important judgments and new laws
What does Reasoning Ability and Knowledge of English cover?
This 30-mark section mixes logical reasoning with English language skills.
- Reasoning: analogies, series, coding-decoding, blood relations, directions and syllogisms
- English: reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, idioms and sentence correction
What is the PU LLB 2027 exam pattern and marking scheme?
The test is a 90-minute pen and paper OMR exam with 100 one-mark questions and a quarter mark deducted for each wrong answer.

How should you prepare for PU LLB 2027?
Start with past papers, because the format and level have stayed steady across years. The PU LLB question papers from 2016 to 2025 are free to download.
- Read a daily newspaper for current affairs and English practice at the same time.
- Use Lucent’s General Knowledge for static GK and Indian Polity by M. Laxmikanth for the Constitution.
- Practise reasoning with R.S. Aggarwal’s Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning.
- Revise grammar with Wren and Martin and build vocabulary with Word Power Made Easy.
- Take timed 90-minute mock tests, and skip questions you are unsure of because of negative marking.
