SEED 2027 (Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design) is the entrance test of Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID), Pune, for its B.Des programme in seven specialisations. It is a 60-minute online proctored test that you take from home in January 2027. Registration is open on the SID portal till 25 December 2026.

SEED 2027 Important Dates
SID has fixed the SEED 2027 registration window (29 September to 25 December 2026) and the exam month, January 2027. The exact exam date, admit card, result and PRPI dates are still to be declared.

How to Apply for SEED 2027
You apply online only, on the SID registration portal for B.Des admissions 2027. One registration covers both the SEED test and the SID admission process, and it must be completed and paid for by 25 December 2026.
Apply Online for SEED 2027
Applications for SEED 2027 are open: 29 September to 25 December 2026.
- Open the SEED 2027 registration portal and click New User? Register Here. Turn off your browser’s auto-fill first, as the portal advises.
- Read the terms and conditions, agree to them and fill in your personal and academic details.
- Choose your B.Des specialisation carefully. SID shortlists candidates for the next round only for the specialisation selected during registration.
- Note your BDES ID and password. You use them (or your email ID) to sign in later.
- Pay the Rs 3,250 registration fee online.
- Check your registered email. SID sends SEED sample papers to registered candidates after payment.

There is no offline form. If you entered a wrong email ID while registering, SID asks you to write to [email protected] with your details and the correct email ID.
Who can apply for SEED 2027?
You must have passed 10+2 with at least 45% marks (40% for reserved categories), or passed the D.Voc stream in the same or an allied sector.
- Students in the final year of 10+2 or a 10+3 diploma may apply, if their result is declared by June 2027.
- Any stream can apply: science, commerce, arts and humanities students are all eligible.
- There is no age limit for SEED.
- A drawing exam certificate is not needed. SID says a relevant portfolio and creative aptitude are desirable.
International students do not take SEED. Their admissions are handled by the Symbiosis Centre for International Education (SCIE).
What is the SEED 2027 exam pattern?
SEED 2027 is a 60-minute online proctored test with 60 questions for 60 marks and no negative marking. You take it from home on a laptop or PC with a camera and stable internet; it does not work on a mobile phone.

SID also holds a practice mock test a few days before SEED; in 2026 it was on 7 January, four days before the exam. It is not compulsory, but SID recommends it to get used to the exam portal.
How does SID select B.Des students after SEED 2027?
SEED is only Level 1. Candidates who qualify are called for the Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction (PRPI), and the final merit list uses the cumulative performance in all four levels.

Selection also considers the details in your application form and the specialisation you chose. A SEED score is valid for one year only, and UCEED or NIFT scores are not accepted. Result and PRPI details are on the SEED 2027 result page.
How many B.Des seats does SEED 2027 cover?
SID lists 210 B.Des seats for Indian students across seven specialisations, subject to approval from Symbiosis International (Deemed University).

Within these seats, 15% are reserved for SC, 7.5% for ST and 3% for differently abled candidates. The B.Des academic fee for 2026-27 was Rs 2,50,000 a year plus a refundable Rs 20,000 deposit; SID has not yet published the fee for the 2027 batch.
