What is the SLIET SET 2027 syllabus for SET-I (ICD)?
SET-I is based on the Class 10 syllabus and has 100 questions in four sections of 25 each. The same paper is used for SET-IA (ICD lateral entry). The topics below are from the 2026 brochure; check the 2027 brochure when it is out.

What is the SLIET SET 2027 syllabus for SET-II (Integrated M.Sc)?
SET-II is at Class 12 level, with 60 questions of 15 each. You choose either Mathematics or Biology; the other sections are common to all.
- English, General Knowledge and Mental Aptitude (15): general science, current events, Indian history, polity and economy, national movement, mental ability, idioms, tenses, narration and fill in the blanks.
- Physics (15): electrostatics, current electricity, magnetism, optics and wave optics, electronic devices.
- Chemistry (15): chemical bonding, chemical and ionic equilibrium, kinetics, transition metals and coordination chemistry, organic chemistry.
- Mathematics (15): algebra, trigonometry, calculus, geometry, statistics and probability.
- Biology (15, instead of Mathematics): cell structure, plant physiology, respiration, growth, reproduction, heredity and molecular basis of inheritance.
What is the SLIET SET 2027 syllabus for SET-III (lateral entry)?
SET-III has 40 questions on general subjects and 60 questions on Basics of Engineering for the group you apply in.

What is the syllabus for SET-IV, SET-VI and SET-VII?
These three tests have 60 questions in 1.5 hours each.
- SET-IV (MBA): quantitative ability (arithmetic, algebra, number system, geometry, modern maths), data interpretation and logical reasoning, verbal ability and reading comprehension.
- SET-VI (M.Sc): 10 questions on arithmetic, critical reasoning and general awareness, plus 50 B.Sc-level questions in Physics, Chemistry or Mathematics.
- SET-VII (M.Tech): 5 questions on engineering mathematics, 5 on communication and mental aptitude, and 50 on the branch: manufacturing or welding, food engineering, instrumentation and control, chemical, ECE/VLSI or computer science.

How is the SLIET SET 2027 paper marked?
Each question carries one mark, and one quarter of a mark is cut for each wrong answer in SET-I to SET-VII except SET-V. Unanswered questions get zero. The full pattern by test, with durations, is on the SLIET SET 2027 page.

Which books should you use for SLIET SET 2027?
For SET-I, the brochure names the NCERT Science textbooks for Classes 9 and 10 as the main reference, with Lakhmir Singh’s Science for Class 10 and NCERT Exemplar problems for practice.
- SET-II: NCERT Class 11 and 12 textbooks for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology.
- SET-III: your diploma course textbooks for the Basics of Engineering section, plus Class 12 level Maths, Physics and Chemistry.
- SET-IV: a standard CAT or CMAT aptitude guide for quantitative ability, reasoning and verbal ability.
- SET-VI and SET-VII: your B.Sc or B.E. textbooks, and GATE or JAM practice material for the subject.
