SLIET SET 2027 is the All India SLIET Entrance Test of Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology, Longowal (Punjab). It is used for admission to the ICD diploma, B.E. lateral entry, Integrated M.Sc, MBA, M.Sc, M.Tech and Ph.D. Registration is expected to open in February 2027 and the test is expected in May 2027.

SLIET has not announced the 2027 schedule yet; in 2026 registration ran from 10 February to 20 April and the test was held on 9 May, so the 2027 dates below are expected months.

How to Apply for SLIET SET 2027
You apply online only, through the SLIET admission portal linked from set.sliet.ac.in, once the SET-2027 brochure is out. Registration has five steps and all of them must be finished before the closing date.
Apply Online for SLIET SET 2027
Applications for SLIET SET 2027 are expected in February 2027.
- Open the SLIET SET website and go to the admission portal (slietexam.co.in), then choose New Registration.
- Fill in your personal details with a valid mobile number and email. Your Form Number and password are sent by SMS and email.
- Enter your qualification details and choose your test and exam centre.
- Upload your photograph, signature and documents, then pay the fee by net banking, debit card, credit card or UPI.
- Print the registration form, paste a recent colour photograph and sign it. You hand it in when you report for admission.

18% GST and bank charges are extra. Candidates with 40% or more disability applying to the ICD programme under the Ministry of Education PwD scheme pay no entrance fee.
Which programmes does SLIET SET 2027 cover?
SET is split into separate tests, one for each programme level, and you sit only the test for the programme you want.

The 4-year B.E. and the 5-year Integrated M.Tech are not filled through SET. SLIET admits to them only through JEE Main and JoSAA/CSAB counselling.
Who can apply for SLIET SET 2027?
Eligibility depends on the test. These are the rules in the 2026 brochure; reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD) get the lower figure shown in brackets.
- SET-I (ICD): Class 10 pass with English, Mathematics and Science. Students appearing in Class 10 can apply.
- SET-II (Integrated M.Sc): Class 12 with 60% or CGPA 6.0 (55% or 5.5). Biology students are considered for Chemistry only.
- SET-III (B.E. or Integrated M.Tech lateral entry): diploma in any discipline with 55% or CGPA 5.5 (50% or 5.0). Final-year diploma students can apply.
- SET-IV (MBA): bachelor’s degree such as B.E., B.Tech, B.Sc, B.Com, BBA or graduation with Economics and Mathematics, or any master’s degree, with 55% (50%).
- SET-VI (M.Sc): B.Sc with 55% or CGPA 5.5 (50% or 5.0), with the M.Sc subject as one of the subjects.
- SET-VII (M.Tech): B.E., B.Tech or B.Sc (Engg.) in an appropriate branch with 60% or CGPA 6.0 (55% or 5.5).

What is the SLIET SET 2027 exam pattern?
Every SET paper has objective questions with four options and one correct answer, and each question carries one mark.

One quarter of a mark is deducted for each wrong answer, and unanswered questions score zero. SET-V (Ph.D.) has no negative marking. SET-I can be taken in English, Hindi or Punjabi; all other tests are in English only.
In 2026 the computer-based tests were held at 20 centres: Bareilly, Bathinda, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Dhanbad, Hamirpur, Jaipur, Jalandhar, Kolkata, Kota, Longowal, Lucknow, Muzaffarpur, New Delhi, Patiala, Patna, Pune, Ranchi, Shimla and Siliguri. The Ph.D. test was held on paper at SLIET Longowal only.
How are seats filled after SLIET SET 2027?
Admission is on merit in the test, and you must reach the cut-off marks fixed by the SET core committee to enter the merit list.
- Ties are broken by age (older candidate first) and then by marks in the qualifying exam.
- SET-III merit lists are made group-wise: Group A (electronics, computer, instrumentation, electrical), B (mechanical), C (chemical and food) and D (civil).
- MBA merit is out of 150: SET-IV or CAT/CMAT/GATE marks scaled to 100, plus group discussion (25) and interview (25).
- Reservation: SC 15%, ST 7.5%, EWS 10%, OBC-NCL 27% and PwD 5%. ICD seats are split 75% for Punjab and 25% for other states and UTs.
- Counselling is online for all programmes except Ph.D., with rounds of choice filling, allotment, upgradation and a special round that needs a Rs 5,000 token payment.
