SLIET SET 2019: Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering & Technology (SLIET) conducts SLIET SET every year for taking admissions in various UG, PG and Ph.D. courses. Candidates can refer to the official website that is for further information. The SET 2019 is contemplated to be conducted in the month of June, next year for SET I, SET IA and SET III. Meanwhile, the exam for SET V takes place in the month of January 2019. SLIET grants admission in various fields such as Humanities, Engineering, Technology, Sciences, and Management. Candidates can apply for the SLIET SET 2019 only in the month of May and June. All the updates about the events will be intimated online only. SLIET has divided the admission for UG, PG, and Ph.D. courses into several sets such as SET I, SET IA, SET III, SET IV, SET V, and SET VI. SET I is for the candidates who want to take admission in Integrated Certificate Diploma (ICD), SET IA for Lateral Entry in ICD, SET III for B.E. Programme (Lateral Entry), SET IV for PG courses such as MBA, SET V for Ph.D and SET VI for M.Sc. The admissions for B.E. programme (Non-Lateral Entry) will be taken on the basis of the score secured in JEE Main for the following academic year.

SLIET Admission Process for SET I, SET IA, SET III, and SET V

SLIET Admission Process for SET IV and SET VI

SET IV and SET VI consist of the admissions in the courses such as MBA and M.Sc, respectively. There will be no entrance exam conducted by the Institute for the concerned courses. Candidates will have to appear for CAT/GATE/CMAT for the following academic year to be eligible for applying in SLIET 2019 admissions. The score secured by them will be counted and on the basis of that score, the merit list will be prepared where the names of the eligible students will be mentioned according to the ranking wise.

Eligibility Criteria

SET-I & SET-IA (Three Year ICD (Integrated Certificate Diploma) programme)

  • Should have passed matric from a State Education Board / CBSE / ICSE / National Open School or an equivalent examination recognized/approved by MHRD, Government of India. Those who are appearing in the matriculation examination are also eligible to apply, subject to producing the result at the time of admission
  • It is compulsory to pass in English, Mathematics and Science subjects.

Lateral Entry ICD (2nd year)

  • In addition to the matric pass, the candidate should have also passed full time 2 years ITI/Certificate/10+2 (vocational) in relevant stream with 50% marks (reserved categories candidates require 45%).
  • The candidate should also have 2 years industrial experience from Govt./Semi Govt. and Private Industry.

B.E Programme (admission through JEE MAIN)

Candidates are advised to refer our JEE Mains 2019 eligibility page. The eligibility conditions of JEE Main 2019 will be applicable.

SET-III (B.E. (Lateral Entry)

  • Should possess a Diploma in any discipline from SLIET or from any other polytechnic affiliated with any State Board of Technical Education and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
  • The candidate should have obtained atleast 55% marks (50% in case of candidates belonging to reserved categories) for admission to the appropriate B.E. programmes
  • The candidates appearing for the final examination may also eligible to apply.

M.Tech. Programme

  • Should possess a B.Tech. / B.E. / B.Sc. (Engg.) Degree from a recognized University/Institute in the appropriate branch.
    Should have passed section ‘B’ of the Institution of Engineers (India) in appropriate branch or Grade IETE and has three years of experience in a reputed organization.
  • The candidates must have obtained at least 60% marks (in case of candidates belonging to reserved categories, minimum marks is 55%) in the qualifying degree.
  • Should have a valid GATE score
  • For Industry-Institute sponsored category seats, admission will be granted, if the candidate posses a B.E./ B.Tech. Degree in the respective stream.

SET-IV (MBA Program)

Should have obtained a Bachelor’s Degree, B.Tech., B.E., B.Sc., B.Com or completed Graduation with Economics and Mathematics or possess a master’s degree in any discipline from any recognised university with atleast 55% marks. Whereas in case of students belonging to SC/ST, should have obtained atleast 50% marks.

M.Sc. Programmes

Should possess a B.Sc degree in the concerned subject(Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics) with atleast 55% marks (50% in case of candidates belonging to reserved categories) in aggregate from any recognized University.

SET-V (Ph.D. Programme)

Should possess a Master’s degree in Engineering / Technology / Science / Humanities / Management with 55% marks (50% for reserved categories) in relevant disciplines.

SLIET SET 2019 Application Form

The application form for SLIET SET 2019 will be available on the official website. Applicants should not send more than one Registration Page and if such case happens then his/her candidature shall be cancelled by SLIET. In the SLIET SET application form, candidates will be asked to fill and upload the details such as personal information, educational qualification, communication details, scanned photograph, and signature. It is advised to all the aspiring candidates to first check the eligibility criteria before applying for the same.

Application Fee

Candidates need to pay the application fee for SLIET SET 2019 through Debit/Credit/Net Banking of any Indian authorized bank. The following fee table has been constructed on the basis of the last year trends.

SLIET SET 2019 Admit Card

The admit card will be available on the official website of SLIET. Candidates will be able to access their admit card by submitting their application number and password to the candidate portal. No post in person regarding the Admit card will be sent to the candidates. An admit card is one of the most important document to appear in the entrance test. The hall ticket contains a lot of information about the candidate such as name, personal details, course applied details, exam date and time, test centre, important instructions and many more. It is mandatory for the appearing candidates to bring their hall tickets to the exam centre. One admit card has to be deposited at examination center at the time of examination and other copy will be retained by the candidate for future use.

Course Intake, Duration and Syllabus for Entrance Test

The below syllabus is based upon the last year trends. Candidates who will be going to fill the application form and will appear in the SLIET SET 2019 Entrance exam can check all these details such as syllabus, total seat distribution, and reservations as a reference for future events.

SLIET SET 2019 Result

SLIET result shall be released in the form of the Merit List. The Institute will publish the separate merit list for each set. The merit list for SET I, SET IA, SET III, and SET V will be made on the basis of the ranking secured in the SLIET SET 2019. The result for B.E. programme (Non-Lateral Entry) will be based on the score in JEE Main and for MBA and M.Sc., the merit list will be prepared on the basis of the ranking secured in CAT/CMAT/GATE and PUCET/CUCET for the following academic year.

SLIET SET 2019 Counselling

SLIET SET counselling will be done through online mode only, except for the courses MBA and Ph.D. For Ph.D. programs, offline counselling will take place in SLIET campus only and qualified candidates will have to appear personally on the day of counselling and bring the required original documents with them. Candidates will be given a provisional allotment of seats after which their documents will be verified.

The provisional seats allotted to candidates will be cancelled if the candidate fails to get their documents verified and fee deposited during the stipulated period of time. If a candidate fails to take part in the counselling in time due to some reason, he/she can take part in the next available counseling session. Candidates will be required to submit a copy of the fee deposit receipt and obtain a final seat allotment card after all documents have been verified and fees have been deposited to complete the admission process.
