How the UCEED Paper Changed (2015–2026)

  • 2015 to 2019: the whole paper was on computer, with no drawing. It had 100 questions in 2015, 80 in 2016 and 85 from 2017 to 2019, always for 300 marks in 3 hours.
  • 2020 to 2023: Part A had 68 questions (18 NAT, 18 MSQ, 32 MCQ) for 240 marks in 2 hours 30 minutes, followed by one 60-mark drawing question in Part B.
  • 2024 onwards: Part A was cut to 57 questions and 200 marks in 2 hours, and Part B grew to two 50-mark questions in 1 hour.
  • Using older papers: NAT, MSQ and MCQ questions from 2015 to 2023 are still good Part-A practice, but their marks and penalties differ, so score them by that year’s scheme.

How to Use UCEED Previous Year Papers?

  • Take Part-A in 2 hours flat. 57 questions in 120 minutes is about 2 minutes a question. Visual and spatial questions eat time, so skip and return rather than stay stuck.
  • Answer every NAT question. NAT has no negative marking, so always enter a number. In MCQ a wrong answer costs 0.71 against +3, and in MSQ any wrong choice costs 1 mark, so mark MSQ options only when you are sure of them.
  • Practise Part-B on paper. Give yourself 1 hour for the two questions from the 2024 to 2026 papers, sketching in a booklet as you will on exam day. The answer keys cover Part-A only.
  • Use the 11 weeks to 17 January 2027 well. Solve 2026, 2025 and 2024 as full 3-hour tests first, then work through the 2015 to 2023 Part-A questions by section.
