There is no BHU entrance exam in 2027. Banaras Hindu University stopped its own UET and PET and now admits UG students on CUET UG scores and PG students on CUET PG scores, both run by NTA. After the results you register on BHU’s CAP-UG or CAP-PG portal, expected from May 2027 (PG) and July 2027 (UG).

This page explains how BHU admission works now that BHU holds no entrance test of its own: which test each programme needs, dates, how to apply, eligibility, merit rules and the latest cut offs.

Is the BHU entrance exam 2027 being held?
No. BHU’s own Undergraduate Entrance Test (UET) and Postgraduate Entrance Test (PET) were replaced by CUET from the 2022-23 session. The 2026 bulletins state that UG admission is based solely on CUET UG scores and PG admission solely on CUET PG scores, except for programmes that also need a practical, physical or GD-PI test.

So if you are aiming for BHU in 2027, prepare for CUET UG 2027 or CUET PG 2027 in the papers BHU’s bulletin prescribes for your programme. Clearing CUET is not enough on its own: you must also register separately on BHU’s allotment portal.

How to Apply for BHU Admission 2027
You apply in two stages: first the CUET form on NTA’s website, then the BHU Combined Allotment Programme (CAP) form after the CUET result. There is no single BHU application form any more.
Apply Online for BHU 2027
The BHU 2027 application dates have not been announced yet.
- Check your programme in the BHU UG or PG Information Bulletin and note the CUET papers it needs.
- Apply for CUET UG 2027 or CUET PG 2027 on NTA’s website and choose those papers. You must score in the prescribed papers to be considered.
- After the CUET result, register on the CAP-UG portal (bhucuet.samarth.edu.in) or the CAP-PG portal (bhucuetpg.samarth.edu.in) with your CUET application number. Name, photo, signature, email and mobile number are copied from your CUET form and cannot be edited.
- Choose your programmes and campuses, upload Class 10 and 12 (and degree, for PG) marksheets and category certificates, and pay the registration fee (one-time for UG; charged per programme for PG).
- Check each allocation round, pay the admission fee if you get a seat, and report for document verification on the given dates.

The fee is non-refundable. The CAP-UG portal writes the SC/ST/PwBD amount as Rs 250 but the words say three hundred, and BHU has not published the CAP-PG fee in the documents we checked, so confirm the amount on the payment page. The CUET fee is separate and is paid to NTA.
Who can apply for BHU admission 2027?
You must meet the programme-wise eligibility in BHU’s Information Bulletin and must have appeared in the matching CUET papers. Students awaiting their qualifying result can take CUET but must be eligible at the time of admission.
- UG: most programmes need 10+2 with at least 50% aggregate, with specific subjects for science, commerce and agriculture streams.
- PG: most programmes need a relevant bachelor’s degree with at least 50% aggregate or the equivalent CGPA.
- SC and ST candidates need only to pass the qualifying exam (BA LLB needs at least 40%, as per the Bar Council of India). OBC and PwBD candidates get 5% relaxation in marks.
- UG admission is for Indian citizens; foreign nationals apply through BHU’s foreign students’ registry and are exempt from CUET.
- Gap years do not affect eligibility, but you cannot pursue two regular degrees at the same time.
How does BHU prepare its merit list?
BHU ranks you on your CUET score in the papers that count for your programme, and allots seats by merit, category, choices and seats left in each round.
- BFA and BPA: the final merit combines CUET UG with a practical examination held at BHU.
- Some PG programmes, such as MBA (Financial Management, Foreign Trade, Risk & Insurance): CUET PG plus group discussion and interview, which together carry 20% of the total marks.
- Rounds in 2026 UG: Rounds 1 to 4, Spot Rounds 1 and 2, then Mop-up Rounds 1 and 2. PG had four rounds, spot rounds and mop-up rounds.
- Reservation: SC 15%, ST 7.5%, OBC-NCL 27%, EWS 10% and PwBD 5%, with supernumerary seats for wards of BHU employees, sports and foreign nationals.
Registration alone does not guarantee a seat, and every admission stays provisional until BHU verifies your original documents.
What is the expected BHU 2027 cut off?
BHU has not published any 2027 cut off. The 2026 Round 1 minimum CUET UG scores below (official BHU Round 1 cut-off data, main campus faculties) are the best guide; later rounds closed lower.

What happens after you get a BHU seat?
You must pay the admission fee online within the window given for your round, or the seat goes to the next candidate.
- Log in to the CAP portal when the allocation is out and accept the seat.
- Pay the programme fee online before the deadline in the round notice.
- Report in person for document verification on the scheduled dates (UG 2026 physical reporting was on 3 and 5 September 2026).
- Carry original marksheets, category and PwBD certificates if claimed, and the documents listed in the bulletin.
What was the BHU UET exam pattern?
BHU UET was a multiple-choice test with a separate paper for each programme. The papers in BHU’s own archive show this pattern.

CUET UG follows NTA’s own pattern, which is different, so prepare for the current test on the CUET UG pages rather than from the UET pattern.
