BHU UET

Banaras Hindu University was established in 1916. It is an autonomous institute which offered numerous Undergradute and Post Graduate courses. The admission in the institute is granted on the basis of entrance examination conducted by the University.

The entrance examination for UG admission is called as BHU UET. It will be a pen and paper based examination, which is held on 15, 29 April 2018 and 13, 20, 22, 23, 25 and 27 May 2018. The University has released the schedule of the BHU UET 2018 recently and the candidates can check it from the table below. BHU UET 2018

Before moving further, it is vital for the candidates to understand the admission process of BHU. To explain it in brief, the admission in the University is granted on the basis of merit secured by the candidates in UET. However, the candidates need to satisfy all the norms of eligibility as well.

BHU UET 2018 Eligibility Criteria

To appear for the BHU UET 2018, candidates must fulfill the eligibility criteria for the examination as decided by the University. The eligibility requirements are mentioned below:

Minimum Educational Qualification: The candidates should have qualified passed in 10+2 examinations or equivalent examinations, with a minimum of 50% Marks.

  • Only for B.Ed. Course – Candidates with at least fifty percent marks either in t
    he Bachelor’s Degree and/or in the Master’s Degree in Sciences/Social Sciences/ Humanities/Commerce, Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto or eligible for admission to the programme.
  • Only for L.L.B Hons. in Bachelor of Laws Course – Candidates must have a B.A / B.Sc. / B.Com / Shastri Degree, with 50% marks in the core subjects. OR should possess any equivalent degree which is recognized by BCI.
  • Only for B.A. L.L.B Hons Course – Minimum marks in qualifying exam is 50% for General category applicants, 45% for OBC and 40% for SCs & ST candidates.
  • Only for B.P.Ed Course – The applicants should have a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with 50% marks.

Age Limit: The candidates must not be more than 20 – 25 years as on July 1, 2018.

BHU UET 2018 Application Form

The eligible candidates can fill the BHU UET application form online. The application form is available on the Entrance Test Portal i.e. bhuonline.in. The candidates will have to submit the application form and fee in the prescribed format. The details to be submitted in the form will be related to the candidates, education qualification they had, and contact mediums. The candidates will be required to complete the application process before the last date. Before applying, the candidates must read all the registration details on the BHU Entrance Test Portal carefully to understand the application procedure and all other requirements.

Application Fee:

  • For SC/ST/PC – Rs. 250/-
  • For Others – Rs. 500/-

For Shastri (Hons), Rs. 200/- for Others and Rs. 100/-  for SC/ST/PC.

However, in case the candidate makes application (fills up application form) for more than one course under UET 2018, the Application Processing Fee/Entrance Test Fee payable by him/her for each subsequent application (after first application) shall be charged as per reduced rates given below:

For SC/ST/PC – Rs. 100/-
For Others – Rs. 200/-

BHU UET 2018 Admit Card

The admit card for BHU UET 2018 will be issued almost a week before the examination. The candidates will be able to download it online, from the official website. To access the admit card login, the candidates will have to submit the Registration ID which will be allotted during the application form submitting. The University will inform the candidate about the issuance through the sms and e-mail alert. The status regarding the availability of BHU UET admit card will also be provided on this page.

Candidates should note that if they are unable to download the admit card till 03 days from the exam then they contact the University. The University is to be contacted even regarding the discrepancies in the details provided on it. On the exam day, candidates have to carry the admit card in a hard copy format and need to affix a passport size photograph on it as well.

Declaration of Result for BHU UET 2018

The result will apparently be announced in the 1st – 2nd week of June 2018 after the examinations. It will be made available to the candidates through the BHU Entrance Test Portal. It will contain the marks obtained by the candidates, their overall merit and merit to which he/she belongs. The candidates can get the result details through the registered email address and SMS at his/her registered mobile number. The candidates will be required to obtain the minimum qualifying marks in order to get admission in the particular course for which they have applied for. On the basis of the merit obtained, the qualified candidates will be called for the further counselling process.

Admission Procedure

The admission of a candidate in a course will be done only when he/she satisfies all the eligibility requirements, appears in the UET, qualifies in the Entrance Test and completes all formalities required for admission in the course. The admissions shall be made strictly on the basis of merit index in the UET, availability of seats in the course, as per rules given in this Information Bulletin and rules framed by the University from time to time.

The admission process will begin after the declaration of UET results. The admission will be done by the Admission Committees of the respective departments. The concerned Head of the Department/Coordinator will issue electronic call letters to the candidates for Counseling. As soon as the electronic call letters are issued, the shortlisted candidates may ‘Login’ on the Candidate’ segment of the Entrance Test Portal [www.bhuonline.in] for downloading the call letter. Information on issue of Call Letter will be sent to the candidate’s on their registered e-mail ids/ mobile numbers. Therefore the candidates are advised to give correct e-mail addresses/mobile number for correspondence. Candidates may also note that there will be no postal dispatch of call letter. The number of call letters will be nearly two-four times the number of seats available in the course. Admission is based strictly on merit index obtained in the
Entrance Test.

BHU UET 2018 Counselling

The counselling or the admission for the BHU UET 2018 for a candidate in a course will be done only on the fulfilment of the eligibility conditions, qualifying the UET examination and completing all the requirements for the admission. The admission of the candidate will be strictly on the basis of the marks obtained by him/her in the entrance examination.

The counselling process will start after the declaration of the UET results. It will be conducted by the Admission Committees of the respective departments. The candidate will get the Call letters by the concerned head of the department for the counselling. The call letters will have to be downloaded from the BHU Entrance Test Portal (i.e. bhuonlin.in). The counselling process will be done in three steps i.e. Online Preference Entry, Activity on the day of Counselling and Activity on the next day of the Counselling Date. The candidates must go through all the stages of the admission process in order to get admitted in the desired course.

Documents required at the time of Admission

The candidates who will be shortlisted/waitlisted will be provided with Call Letters by the concerned authority. The candidate who will be called for the admission to the particular course on a scheduled date/time will have to bring the following documents in Original as mentioned below:

  1. Transfer Certificate.
  2. Migration Certificate, if passed from a university other than BHU (To be submitted not later than 90 days of admission).
  3. High School Certificate/equivalent Certificate.
  4. Intermediate (+2) Certificate/equivalent Certificate.
  5. Mark sheets of High School/equivalent & Intermediate (+2)/equivalent.
  6. Mark sheet of the Qualifying Examination.
  7. UET Admit Card issued from the office of the Controller of Examinations, BHU.
  8. SC/ST/OBC Certificate on the basis of which reserved quota seat is claimed.
  9. Certificate(s) in support of claim for ‘Sports Seats’.
  10. Certificate of being the son/daughter of a permanent in-service employee/Retired/Reemployed/ Deceased employee of BHU in the prescribed format issued by the Central Registry.
