CAT 2017 Registration was open only until 25 September 2017, 5 PM. Through a recent announcement, organising body of CAT 2017, IIM Lucknow, has also allowed limited options for form correction form. Initially the last date of Registration for CAT 2017 was 20 September 2017, which got extended by few more days. Online application form was at iimcat.ac.in. It was to be submitted with requisite fees (Rs 900 for SC / ST / PwD, Rs 1800 for others). Only those who submit the form with fees will be allowed to appear in exam. Applicants can download Admit Card of CAT 2017 as per schedule. If a candidate has made any one of the error then they can make corrections. What You Can Do At CAT 2017 Login
If you have registered for IIM CAT 2017, then you can click on above link to login. Enter user ID and password to log in. Through this, you can do the following three activities.
- View / Print application form
- Check application status (if it is updated)
- Download admit card (from 18 Oct 2017)
What To Do If Forgot Password
In the event that you forget password of CAT 2017 Login, first of all go to CAT Login. Click on forgot password option. Now you will be able to enter User ID and captcha characters on screen. Immediately you will get option to recover or reset password.
What to do if you have made a mistake in the CAT Registration 2017?
After you submit the application, there is a limited time window during which you can modify very limited details like Percentage of Marks scored, Work Experience, Programmes Selected etc. You will not be able to modify any of the following: any details entered in the Personal Details section, any details entered in the Academics section except the percentage marks scored, Exam Centre City Preferences. CAT 2017 Registration Fees
The application fee is different for categories. Category once entered in application form cannot be changed as fee depends on it.
- SC, ST, PwD category candidates will pay Rs 900 as application fee.
- Other category candidates will pay Rs 1800 as application fee.

CAT 2017 Registration: Things to do before applying
The following is a checklist of things to do prior to filling up application form of CAT exam 2017.
- Check eligibility criteria and proceed to apply only if eligible.
- Candidate must have valid and unique email address and mobile number which will be used to register for CAT 2017.
- Keep documents relevant to educational qualifications, mark sheets of class 10 to degree/diploma, work experience, caste certificate, scanned images of photograph and signature handy.
- Work out the final list of IIM programs to apply to as that also has to be filled in the application form of CAT 2017.
- Please note that all fields marked with an asterisk sign (*) are compulsory.
FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)
Question: I am unable to complete CAT registration as class 12 percentage is showing wrong.
Answer: Some candidates have conveyed that they are unable to move ahead in the registration process as when they fill class 12th percentage it is showing wrong. To this, some users have informed that when they faced the same issue, they were able to proceed by rounding up the class 12th percentage to two decimal places.
Question: Am I eligible to appear in CAT 2017 if I have a backlog?
Answer: Yes. Eligibility norms of CAT 2017 state that those who will complete degree by May 2018 are eligible. However such a candidate should select Yes to the question “Are you in the final year of Bachelor Degree”.
Question: I’m pursuing my final year of B.E. currently. I’m going to register for the CAT 2017. Do I need to attach my previous six semester marksheets. The last date for registering is September 25. My university said they can’t provide me the marksheets?
Answer: You do not need to upload any degree marksheets while filling up CAT 2017 application form.
Question: Can I edit the CAT registration form after submitting the form?
Answer: The following is taken verbatim from CAT 2017 FAQs:- You cannot edit personal details (Personal details, other personal details, communication address, uploaded documents) and any details in academic section except percentage marks scored after making payment. If you have made a mistake in these details, you must register again with a new email ID. Your CAT 2017 application will be considered for the latest registration and the Admit Card will be issued for the same. Please note that, you will not receive a refund or Admit Card for your earlier registration. Failure to re-register in such circumstances may lead to nullification of your candidature.
You can edit some personal details, such as communication address, gender, category, educational information, work experience, exam city preferences and interview city preferences etc., until you have not submitted the Application Form. To do so, click the Existing User Login option on the CAT website.

CAT Registration 2017 : Procedure

There are 3 steps in registration. You must complete all steps and finally submit form online in order to submit your candidature for exam.
- Register to get user Id and Password.
- Log in using User ID and password
- Enter details in CAT Application Form 2017 and pay fees
Step 1 – Registration
In the registration step, candidates need to create a profile.
Click on the Register now button to create a user profile.
Enter name of the candidate, Date of Birth, Email ID and Mobile number.
A captcha will appear on the screen which has to be filled by the candidate to complete the registration process.
Name – Name entered in CAT Application Form 2017 should be same as that given in class X or SSC certificate. If name is different due to marriage or name-change case, then document proving new name needs to be submitted (court affidavits or marriage certificate).
Date of birth – A drop down calendar appears on screen where date, month, and year can be selected to enter DOB. Ensure that date entered is same as in SSC certificate.
Email address – Use an email ID which you have access to at all times, and is not used by someone else, since this email ID will be one where IIML sends updates of CAT 2017 exam.
Mobile number – A valid mobile number be used, do not use a dummy number which you do not have. Password and CAT ID will be sent to mobile number entered in CAT Registration 2017. Do not use +91 or 0 or such prefixes.
OTP: Click on Generate OTP to send OTP on your mobile number once fill the captcha and submit it. To verify the mobile number, enter the OTP received and click on validate the OTP tab.
After this you will be able to submit registration from and get the password on your mobile number and user id on your email address.
By clicking on the I Agree tab in the declaration section, candidate is confirming that all the details entered by him or her are correct in his or her knowledge.
Step 2 – Login to CAT Website
Check email ID or SMS to know CAT ID and password.
Click on Existing User button on website.
Enter registration ID and password to login.
In case candidate forgets his or her password then click on the Forgot Password button and a new password will be sent by email.
Step 3 – Fill Application Form
The application form of CAT 2017 will be filled in the five sections
- Personal Details
- Work Experience
- Programmes Payment
Entries To Be Made In CAT Registration 2017
- Name of Father / Husband / Guardian
- Name of Mother
- Gender Along with all these
- Persons with Disability
- Passport size photograph: 30 mm x 45mm, JPG/JPEG, less than 80kb.
- Signature: 80 mm x 35mm, JPG/JPEG, less than 80kb.
- Caste certificate, if applicable: JPG/JPEG, less than 80kb.
- PWD certificate, if applicable: JPG/JPEG, less than 80kb.
If in case candidate belongs to the reserved category then he or she should download the certificates of NC-OBC, SC/ST or PWD from the CAT website and fill it with required details. After filling self attest the certificate, scan it and upload it in the pdf format as prescribed.
In Academics section, candidates have to enter the educational details such as details of the following:
- Class SSC/10th and HSC/12th
- Diploma Course
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Master’s Degree
- Other Professional details
For the Class 10th/12th details candidates need to enter the aggregate marks of all the subjects.
Candidates must select the course type as 12th class/ equivalent if candidate has appeared in HSC or school structure of two year education post 10th standard, otherwise select Diploma. Enter all the relevant details such as marks obtained in class 12th in all the subjects. The marks should be filled as mentioned in the mark sheet of 12th class.
Enter the bachelor’s degree details in the space provided for that purpose. Details should be entered in accordance to whether you have completed the graduate or pursuing it. Candidates must enter the appropriate details as required.
If in case candidate has more than one Bachelor’s degree (BCom + LLB or BE + BPharm) then candidate has to select the box mentioning “Click here if you have more than one Bachelor’s Degree” and fill in the details for the other bachelor’s degree.
Note: If you have a dual degree with both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s (BTech + MTech or BTech + MSc) enter the appropriate details in both the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree sections.
At last in the Academics section, enter the details of other Professional Degree Details such as CA, ICWA, CS and enter the marks of that degree in the appropriate spaces.
Note: If you have not undergone any Bachelor Degree, then completion of any one of the above professional degrees is mandatory.
The third section is the Work Experience in which candidate have to enter the details related to work experience completed as on July 31st 2017. Enter the details as Part time/ Project / Internship article ship / pre-graduation in the experience section.
In the Programmes section candidate have to select any number of programme names in the section given in the window and then select the interview city for that programme as per the cities mentioned below:

- IIM Raipur
- IIM Ranchi
- IIM Rohtak
- IIM Tiruchirappalli
- IIM Udaipur
Exam Center City Preference
Candidate can select the cities as per the preference. After the last date of registration, the candidate will be allotted one among the 4 preferred cities and either of the two sessions. In the rare case that you cannot be not allotted to any of the preferred cities, you will be allotted to a nearby city. After giving the preference click on the save and continue button.
