CAT Result 2021 – IIM Ahmedabad has released CAT 2021 result at iimcat.ac.in. User ID and password are required to check the CAT 2021 scorecard. CAT 2021 result is released in the form of scorecard. How to Check CAT Result 2021?
The CAT 2021 result is available in the form of a scorecard under the respective logins of the candidates. To check the scorecard and download the same, candidates can check the steps below:
Step 1: First of all, candidates need to visit the official website or click on the direct link above.
Step 2: Then, candidates have to press the “Login” button under CAT 2021 Score card download heading.

Step 3 – Next, the candidates need to enter the user id and password to proceed further.

Step 4 – Once all the details are entered correctly, candidates have to click on the blue “login” button and download CAT 2021 scorecard from the dashboard.
How is CAT 2021 Result Compiled?
The compilation of CAT 2021 results is done using the process below:
- Step 1: raw score of the candidates are calculated using the marking scheme of the exam
- Step 2: The raw score is then converted to scaled scores.
- Step 3: Scaled scores are then changed to normalised scores to get the percentile score in each section and in the overall exam.
Calculation of CAT 2021 raw scores:
The CAT 2021 raw score shall be calculated by checking the answers of the candidates marked in the exam. For each correct answer, the candidates get 3 marks, and for each wrong MCQ answer, 1 mark is deducted. There is no negative marking done against the wrong TITAs candidates.
How is the CAT 2021 scaled score calculated via the normalization method?
The normalisation of the scores is done with the help of mean and standard deviation (SD). The formula to calculate the scaled score is given below:

How is CAT 2021 percentile score calculated?
CAT percentile score is calculated on the basis of scaled score. To do so, the following formula is used:
N – Total number of candidates who appeared for CAT 2021.
R – Rank assigned to candidates, on the basis of the scaled score.
- If 2 or more candidates are getting the same rank while assigning then identical rank is assigned to both the candidates.
Formula for CAT percentile score (p) = [ (N – R) / N] X 100]
Note: IIMs round off the calculated percentile score (P) to 2 decimal points.

About CAT 2021
The Common Admission Test is a computer-based test for national-level entrance exams. For the academic session 2021-23, IIMs offer more than 4576 seats. CAT 2021 is the first step to getting into IIMs, FMS, SP Jain, DTU, etc. Qualifying candidates are then put through the selection process that includes PI, written tests, and group discussions.
