CEED 2020

Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay conducts CEED 2020. Common Entrance Exam for Design (CEED) 2020 is conducted for admission to Master of Design (M.Des) programmes at IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIITDM Jabalpur, and IIT Kanpur, and to Ph.D programmes in Design at IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, and IIT Kanpur. The motive of this exam is to analyse the aptitude of candidates for design involving visual perception ability, drawing skills, logical reasoning, creativity, communication, and problem-solving skills. CEED 2020

The CEED consists of two parts i.e., Part A and Part B. All the candidates have to answer both the parts. The IIT Bombay releases all the details of the exam on the official website i.e., www.ceed.iitb.ac.in. Candidates can check the schedule of CEED 2020 from the table provided below.

Students qualified in CEED are eligible to apply for the M.Des and Ph.D programmes in various institutes. The CEED 2020 score is valid for a period of one year from the date of declaration of the result.

CEED 2020 Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the CEED 2020 exam, the first thing a candidate can do is to check whether he/she is eligible for the exam and for admission to various institutes or not. So, the candidates can check their eligibility which is provided below.

Education Qualification:

  • The candidates must have completed a degree/diploma/post graduate degree programme of minimum 3 years (after 10+2 level), OR
  • He/She must be appearing for the final examination of a program mentioned above by July, OR
  • He/She must have passed the GD Arts diploma programme (10+5 level) by July.

Age: There is no age limit to appear for CEED. Also, a candidate can appear for CEED any number of times.

CEED 2020 Application Form

Candidates can apply for CEED 2020 through the official website i.e., www.ceed.iitb.ac.in. The applicant must submit the application form online only. The candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria carefully and also read the instructions given in the website before filling out the CEED 2020 Application Form. If a candidate faces any problem while filling the application form, he/she can report it by clicking the “Report Problem” button on the right side of the form. Application Fee:

After submitting the application form, a candidate has to pay the registration fee. A candidate can pay the fee through the payment options available online i.e., Debit Card / Credit Card / Net Banking. The fee for the exam is as follows:

The registration fee shown above does not include service and other charges and the processing fees that the banks may levy.

Exam Centres of CEED 2020

The candidates have to compulsorily choose three exam cities in the order of preference at the time of online registration. After the submission of the form, a candidate can neither be able to change his choice nor be able to request for a change of exam city under any circumstances. If a sufficient number of candidates is not available in a city, then it may be dropped from the final list and candidates will be allotted to a city of their second or third choice. However, the authority reserves the right to add a new city or remove an existing one and allot a city that may not be among any of the choices of a candidate.

A city may have more than one examination centre. In such cases, a request for change of a centre within the same city will also not be permitted under any circumstances.

CEED 2020 Exam Pattern

The Common Entrance Exam for Design consists of two parts namely Part A and Part B. A candidate has to attempt the questions from both the parts. The in-depth details of both parts are given below.

Part A

Part A is a computer-based screening test. It evaluates:

  • Visualization and Spatial Ability
  • Environmental and Social Awareness
  • Analytical and Logical Reasoning
  • Language and Creativity
  • Observation and Design Sensitivity

Type of Questions: Objective Type Questions i.e., Numerical Answer Type (NAT), Multiple Select Questions (MSQ) and Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)

Duration: 1 Hour

  • The NAT section contains 3 marks for each correct answer.
  • Next, the MSQ section contains 2 marks for each correct answer.
  • Lastly, the MCQ section contains 2 marks for each correct answer and 0.6 negative marks for each wrong answer.

Part B

The questions in Part B display on the computer screen and the invigilator provides answer book to write the answers. However, they collect the answer books at the end of the examination. It evaluates:

  • Drawing
  • Creativity
  • Communication Skills
  • Analytical and Problem Solving Skills

Syllabus for CEED 2020

To prepare for CEED 2020, apart from knowing the exam pattern and practicing previous years question papers, a candidate should also know the syllabus for Part A and Part B. The detailed CEED 2020 syllabus is as below.

CEED 2020 Admit Card

IIT Bombay releases the CEED 2020 Admit Card for downloading on the official website of CEED. Candidates can download the CEED Admit Card from the website by entering the credentials asked. A candidate should take a clear printout (in colour) of the admit card before reporting to the examination centre as the admit card contains biometric information such as thumb impression and photograph. The candidate should also bring a valid photo identity proof (original) along with the admit card. A candidate cannot be able to enter in the centre without a proper identity proof.

If there is any mistake in the CEED Admit Card 2020, then do not need to worry as there is a chance for rectification of discrepancies in the admit card. A candidate can easily rectify any error by following the proper procedure.

CEED 2020 Answer Key

After the successful conduction of the CEED, the conducting body releases a draft answer key on the official website. Candidates can check the CEED 2020 Answer Key from the website. The answer key will help the candidates to estimate their marks in the CEED exam. If any candidate is not satisfied with the answer key then, s/he can raise an objection regarding it within the given duration. The authority examines the objection(s) and then releases a final answer key after which no objection(s) will be entertained under any circumstances.

CEED 2020 Result

After releasing the final answer key, IIT Bombay releases CEED 2020 Result. The CEED Result and Score Card available on the official website. A candidate can check the result as well as download the scorecard from the website by providing the login credentials. The CEED score is valid for a period of one year from the date of declaration of the result. The final CEED score is calculated by giving 25% weightage to marks obtained in Part A and 75% weightage to scores obtained in Part B.

The CEED 2020 scorecard cannot be treated as a proof of date of birth, category or disability status. Candidates may also note that qualifying in CEED alone does not guarantee admission to any of the mentioned programmes. Admitting institutes may conduct further tests and/or interviews for the final selection/admission.
