Bihar Polytechnic previous year question papers (DCECE) for 2022 are free to download here as PDFs: the PE (Polytechnic Engineering) and PM (Paramedical, Intermediate level) papers of the BCECEB entrance. Both are copies compiled from questions students shared after the exam, with unofficial answers. The real DCECE paper has 90 questions for 450 marks in 2 hours 15 minutes, so use these copies for topic practice for DCECE 2027, expected in May 2027.

What a DCECE 2022 Paper Looks Like
The 2022 PE copy is a memory-based paper compiled from questions shared on social media after the exam. It has about 60 questions, each in Hindi and then English with an answer below: Physics (Q1–24), Chemistry (Q25–41) and Mathematics (Q42 onwards). The PM copy is a typed version of the paper students shared, with 83 questions in five sections: General Science (from Q1), Maths (from Q26), Hindi, English (Q53–63) and General Knowledge (Q64–83). Its note says a few questions may be missing and the answers are unofficial. The table shows the full official pattern for each paper.

The printed answers in these copies are not always right. For example, PE Q29 asks which compound is a liquid at room temperature and marks C₂H₆ (ethane, a gas), while the liquid among the options is C₆H₁₄ (hexane).
How to Use DCECE Previous Year Papers?
- Work at 90 seconds a question. The real paper gives 2 hours 15 minutes for 90 questions, so a 60-question PE copy should take you about 90 minutes.
- Attempt every question. Each question carries 5 marks and the 2026 prospectus does not mention negative marking, so a guess costs nothing under those rules. Confirm this in the 2027 prospectus.
- Check every answer yourself. These are compiled copies with unofficial answers, so verify doubtful ones in your Class 10 Science and Maths books. For PM, Hindi, English and GK are set at Class 12 level.
- Plan for May 2027. About six months remain. Finish the DCECE syllabus first, then solve both 2022 copies under time and revise the chapters where you lose marks.
