How is the AP EAMCET 2020 Result Calculated?
There are 2 important things to note about the AP EAMCET 2020 result, the first is that the raw marks of the candidates are normalised and the second thing is that the ranks in the exam are determined based on the normalised score.
How is normalisation done in AP EAMCET? It is done using the formula below:
Why is normalisation done? Since the question paper will be different for each session, there is a possibility that the candidates compare themselves about the variation in the difficulty level of questions. Therefore to rule out any inequality difficulty level, normalisation is done.
Allotment of the Ranks: For allotting the ranks the marks of the candidates are calculated using the weightage given below:

After the calculation of the marks, the candidates with the highest marks get the top ranks, and so on the merit list / rank list for the allotment of seats is prepared. In case two or more candidates get the same marks, tie-breaking criteria are applied.

To break the tie in AP EAMCET 2020 the below order of tie beaking criteria is applied.
- The total marks secured in AP EAMCET-2020.
- Marks secured in Mathematics in AP EAMCET-2020.
- Marks secured in Physics in AP EAMCET-2020.
- The Percentage of Aggregate marks secured in the qualifying examination.
- If the tie still persists, the older (based on the date of birth) being given preference over the younger.

The qualifying marks for AP EAMCET is given below:
- The qualifying marks for AP EAMCET 2020 is 25% marks.
- There are no qualifying marks for the candidates of the reserved category. Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe category candidates have no cap for qualifying marks.
