Who can apply for GUJCET 2027?

You can take GUJCET 2027 if you have passed Class 12 Science or are appearing for it in 2027, in Group A (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics), Group B (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) or Group AB (all four). These are the 2026 booklet rules.

  • GSEB HSC Science students, passed or appearing.
  • CBSE or CISCE Class 12 Science students of recognised schools located in Gujarat, passed or appearing.
  • Children of Gujarat-origin officers or employees of Central or State Government, the armed forces or government boards posted in other states, who study Class 12 Science in that state.
  • Other candidates eligible under ACPC’s admission rules for these courses.

For an engineering seat, ACPC also requires at least 45% in the prescribed Class 12 subjects (40% for reserved categories), as per its 2026-27 admission notice. A GUJCET score counts only for the admission year of that exam, so you must take GUJCET again for a later year.

What is the GUJCET 2027 exam pattern?

GUJCET is an offline test of multiple choice questions with four options each. Physics and Chemistry come in one combined paper; Biology and Mathematics are separate papers with their own OMR sheets.

PaperQuestionsMarksTime
Physics and Chemistry (combined)40 + 40 = 8080120 minutes
Biology404060 minutes
Mathematics404060 minutes

Group A writes Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics; Group B writes Physics, Chemistry and Biology; Group AB writes all three papers. Each correct answer gets 1 mark and each wrong answer loses 0.25 mark. Questions are in Gujarati, Hindi and English, and a simple calculator is allowed.

In 2026 the papers ran on one day: Physics and Chemistry from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon, Biology from 1:00 to 2:00 PM and Mathematics from 3:00 to 4:00 PM. Practise with the GUJCET previous year question papers.

How does GUJCET lead to admission?

GSEB only holds the test; admission is done by the Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC), Gujarat, through online counselling on gujacpc.admissions.nic.in.

  • ACPC merit for degree engineering (95% of Govt and grant-in-aid seats and 50% of unaided seats) uses 50% weightage of your Class 12 theory percentile in Physics, Chemistry and Maths (or Biology for eligible branches) and 50% of your GUJCET percentile in the same subjects.
  • The other 5% of Govt and grant-in-aid engineering seats go by JEE Main All India Rank.
  • Degree and diploma pharmacy seats are also filled through ACPC using GUJCET and Class 12 results.

These rules are from ACPC’s 2026-27 degree engineering admission notice; ACPC publishes the 2027-28 rules with its new registration.

GUJCET 2027 FAQs

Is GUJCET 2027 registration open?
Not yet. GSEB usually opens GUJCET registration in December; GUJCET 2026 registration opened on 16 December 2025 and, with extensions, closed on 16 January 2026.
Is there negative marking in GUJCET?
Yes. Each correct answer gets 1 mark and each wrong answer loses 0.25 mark. Marking two or more options for one question also attracts negative marking.
Can I use a calculator in GUJCET?
Yes. The GSEB booklet allows a simple (manual) calculator. Mobile phones, log tables, books and other material are not allowed in the hall.
Which group should I choose for GUJCET 2027?
Choose Group A for engineering (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics), Group B for pharmacy (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), or Group AB if you studied all four subjects and want both options.
In which languages is the GUJCET paper set?
GUJCET papers are available in Gujarati, Hindi and English. You choose your medium in the application form and get the paper in that medium.
Is a GUJCET score valid for two years?
No. The GSEB booklet says a GUJCET score is used only for the merit list of that academic year, so you must take the exam again to seek admission in a later year.
