Is HP ANM Admission 2027 open?
No. No HP ANM admission notice for 2027-28 has been issued, and none was found for the sessions 2023-24 to 2026-27 either. The last ANM admission posted by the Directorate of Medical Education & Research (DME&R), Shimla, was for 2022-23, with counselling on 21 October 2022 at IGMC, Shimla.
In recent years DME&R has posted only GNM admission notices. Its 2026-27 nursing counselling, held from 22 to 25 September 2026 at Kasumpti, Shimla, covered the GNM course only. The ANM course itself still runs in the state: the H.P. Nurses Registration Council (HPNRC) declared ANM 2nd-year examination results on 26 August 2026.

The details below come from the 2020-21 and 2022-23 official notices. Treat them as the last known rules, not as confirmed rules for 2027.
How did HP ANM admission work in the last cycle?
DME&R advertised the course in newspapers and on its website, drew a merit list from 10+2 marks and filled seats through counselling. The steps were:
- DME&R published an advertisement inviting applications. In 2022 it appeared in Divya Himachal and The Tribune on 6 and 7 July 2022.
- Candidates filled the prescribed proforma and sent it by post to the Director, Medical Education & Research, Block No. 18-B, SDA Complex, Kasumpti, Shimla-171009, with the SBI Collect fee receipt (2020-21 notice).
- DME&R drew a category-wise merit list on total 10+2 marks and posted it on its nursing notice board.
- Candidates in the merit range attended counselling in person with original documents. In 2022-23 everyone with 35% and above was called on 21 October 2022 to IGMC Auditorium, Shimla.
- Seats in government and private ANM schools were offered in order of merit within each category, and selection letters were uploaded on hp.gov.in/hpdmer.
No call letters were sent by post; counselling dates were announced only through newspapers and the DME&R website. In 2020-21, separate last dates applied to general areas (20 September 2020) and tribal or hard areas (25 September 2020).
Who could apply for HP ANM?
Under the 2020-21 notice, the latest full set of rules found, the course was open to bonafide Himachali female candidates who met these conditions:
- 10+2 from a recognised board in Medical, Non-Medical, Commerce or Arts with English Core or English Elective, or in the Health Care Science vocational stream.
- 10+2 Arts or Science passed through the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) was also accepted.
- SC/ST candidates got a 5% relaxation in marks.
- Age 17 to 35 years as on 31 December of the admission year, with 5 years’ relaxation in the upper limit for SC/ST.
The 2022-23 counselling notice repeated the same 10+2 stream rule. Eligibility for any future cycle has not been published.
What is the expected HP ANM 2027 cut off?
No ANM cut off has been published since 2022-23; the last official figure is below (2022, DME&R counselling notice).

Under the 2020-21 rules, ties in merit went to the older candidate, and candidates were called to counselling in a 1:2 ratio to the number of seats.
What was the HP ANM course fee?
The 2020-21 notice fixed these yearly charges for state-quota seats in private ANM schools:

Students from BPL/IRDP families paid no tuition fee or hospital attachment charges in government institutions. There was no stipend during training, and the state did not promise a job after the course.
Which schools offered ANM in Himachal Pradesh?
The 2020-21 notice listed one government school, the ANM Training School, Gandhi Nagar, Kullu (30 seats), and seven private schools with 10 to 20 state-quota seats each in Kangra, Hamirpur, Bilaspur and Mandi districts. The list and seat numbers may have changed since then, and in 2022-23 seats were shown only on counselling day.
What should you do if you want to join ANM in 2027?
- Check the DME&R nursing notice board at hp.gov.in/hpdmer from June 2027; past ANM notices appeared between June and October.
- Watch Divya Himachal and The Tribune, where DME&R placed its ANM advertisements.
- Ask the ANM school you want to join, or DME&R Shimla (0177-2624895), whether admission is central or direct for 2027-28.
- Keep your Class 10 and 10+2 certificates, category certificate and a character and bonafide certificate from the Tehsildar ready.
If you have passed 10+2, the 3-year GNM course is the nursing programme for which DME&R currently runs yearly merit-based admission in Himachal Pradesh.
