HSTES 2027 is the centralized online counselling run by the Haryana State Technical Education Society for admission to Diploma, B.E./B.Tech, B.Arch, B.Pharmacy and lateral entry courses in Haryana for 2027-28. It is not a single exam: B.Tech seats go on JEE Main rank. Registration is expected to open from April 2027.

Is HSTES an entrance exam?
No. HSTES is the counselling body for technical courses in Haryana. It registers candidates, prepares merit lists and allots seats online in Government, university and private institutes. Each course has its own basis of admission, as per the 2026-27 prospectus:

HSTES is separate from JoSAA counselling, which fills seats in IITs, NITs, IIITs and other centrally funded institutes. HSTES fills seats in Haryana’s state and private institutes on the same JEE Main rank, so B.Tech aspirants usually follow both.
HSTES 2027 Important Dates
HSTES has not announced 2027-28 dates yet. In 2026 the Diploma prospectus came out in April and the B.Tech one on 1 May, so the 2027 schedule is expected from April 2027.

How to Apply for HSTES 2027
You apply online at techadmissionshry.gov.in, separately for each course you want. In 2026 the process had seven stages, and the 2027 form is expected to follow the same pattern.
Apply Online for HSTES 2027
Applications for HSTES 2027 are expected in April 2027. Pharmacy 2026-27: centralised counselling is over; remaining seats are filled through institute-level counselling, and all admissions close on 30 October 2026.
- Sign up for your course on techadmissionshry.gov.in and note your unique application number and password.
- Fill in personal, category and sub-category details. Haryana residents enter their PPP (Parivar Pehchan Patra) ID; others enter Aadhaar.
- Upload your photo and signature.
- Enter the details of your qualifying exam (and JEE Main or NATA details, where needed).
- Check and confirm the details you filled in.
- Upload the documents asked for, such as sub-category, EWS or NATA score card.
- Pay the registration fee online by debit card, credit card, net banking or UPI.

The fee is non-refundable, and only candidates who have paid it can fill choices. For Haryana candidates, name, category and family income are fetched from the PPP database and cannot be edited, so get your PPP data verified before you apply.
Who can apply through HSTES 2027?
Eligibility depends on the course. These are the 2026-27 rules; HSTES may revise them in the 2027 prospectus.
- B.E./B.Tech: Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics plus one more listed subject (such as Chemistry, Computer Science or Biology), with at least 45% (40% for reserved categories) in these subjects, and a JEE Main rank.
- B.Arch: Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics and at least 45% aggregate, or a 10+3 diploma with Mathematics and 45%, plus a valid NATA or COA-recognised test score.
- B.Pharmacy: Class 12 with English, Physics and Chemistry, and Mathematics or Biology, and an OCET rank.
- Diploma Engg.: passed Class 10 from a recognised board.

How are HSTES seats divided?
HSTES fills all seats in Government and university departments and 75% of seats in private unaided institutes. Private institutes fill the other 25% at their own level, including up to 15% for NRI wards.
- State quota: 85% of intake, half for Haryana open general and half for Haryana reserved categories.
- Rest of Haryana (other states): 15% of B.E./B.Tech intake; for B.Arch the 15% is an All India category.
- Girls get 25% horizontal reservation in all categories.
- Tuition Fee Waiver, EWS, Kashmiri Migrant and Haryana Government School Topper seats are supernumerary and are counselled alongside the main rounds.
What is the HSTES OCET exam pattern?
OCET is the only test HSTES holds. It is an online test for B.Pharmacy with 90 multiple-choice questions of one mark each, to be answered in 90 minutes. The 2026 pattern was:

The syllabus is Class 11 and 12 (PCM or PCB). A separate 90-question OCET is held for B.Pharmacy (Lateral Entry) for D.Pharm holders. In 2026 OCET was held from 6 to 11 July, so OCET 2027 is expected in July 2027.
How does HSTES counselling work?
HSTES holds two centralized online rounds for each course, then institutes fill leftover seats through institute-level counselling.
- Log in with your application number and password and fill choices of institute and branch in order of preference.
- Lock your choices before the deadline. If you do not lock them, your last saved choices count.
- Check the seat allotment result on the portal on the date given in the key dates.
- Download the provisional seat allotment letter and report to the allotted institute with original documents and the semester fee.
- Get the Provisional Admission Slip from the institute. Without reporting, the seat is cancelled.
