IIT Madras MBA Admission 2017
The master of Business Administration of IIT Madras is a two-year, full-time, residential program designed to offer the unique IIT advantage to students of business administration. Candidates should be submitted their IIT Madras MBA Admission 2017 Application form online. Candidates will be shortlisted for the next stage of the selection (the Group Task and Personal Interview process) after the application process. The interview date will be intimated to the applicants by email and regular mail well in advance of their interview dates.
For IIT Madras MBA Admission 2017, You should be a graduate or be in the final year of your education. In addition to this you should have a valid CAT score if you are a regular candidate; or GMAT if you are a NRI or foreign national.

The candidates those who are interested in applying for IIT Madras MBA Admission 2017 are required to apply online and have to submit the filled online application form before the last date of the online application. Direct link to fill the online application is also posted on this page.
Candidate have to pay the application which is given below :
- General/OBC – Rs.1600/-
- SC / ST / PD Category Candidates – Rs.800/-
Mode of the payment
Fee Payment is through Net Banking, Credit Card or Debit Card.
NRI/Foreign candidates can pay the fee through a Demand Draft/Banker’s cheque drawn in favour of THE REGISTRAR, IIT MADRAS and payable at Chennai.
How to Apply
Application should be submitted online Application Form for this IIT Madras Admission. First of all New user must be complete their New User Registration process which process is given below.

- Submit their Email ID for Registration.
- Your email will be your login.
- Check your Email Inbox and follow the link to complete the Application process.
- All communications will be sent to this email address.
Regular Candidates: Regular candidates should possess a valid score in the Common Admissions Test (CAT) conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management. IIT Graduates who obtain a CGPA of 8 and above on 10 are exempted from CAT score. Their shortlisting will be based on a composite score with due weights to applicant’s CAT score, past academic performance, industry experience and gender.
Sponsored Candidates: This category is of two types: a) Company Sponsored Candidates b) Indian Defense Personnel
- Candidates may be sponsored by their employers to pursue an MBA at IIT Madras. Candidates should forward their application through proper channel. They must have a minimum work experience of two years in the sponsoring organization and a valid CAT Score.
- Defense personnel are exempted from the national level entrance test. Candidates who are working with the Defense forces are encouraged to apply through respective government agencies.
Non-Resident Indian and Foreign Nationals
Short listing for this category shall be on the basis of –
- GMAT score
- Past academic performance
- Letters of reference and
- Work experience, if any
They also have to submit copies of their citizenship-related documents obtained from the Indian Embassy of their residing country while applying for the programme.
Minimum Academic Qualifications for Regular/Sponsored/NRI & Foreign Candidates
Graduates (or professional qualification equivalent to that of a University degree recognized by the UGC) in any discipline with first class or 60% marks (55% for SC/ST) earned in their degree from a recognized/reputed University for: regular candidates, sponsored candidates, NRI candidates and foreign nationals. For Defence personnel the minimum percentage of marks in qualifying degree will be 55%. For other categories relaxation according to GOI norms will apply.
Final year students (of the above-mentioned programme) are also eligible to apply. Such candidates, if selected, will be admitted provisionally, on the condition that they meet all requirements for the qualifying degree before the start of the program and will produce provisional certificate of completion within two months of joining the program.
Candidates from all categories shortlisted based on the composite score shall be called for a personal interview to a given location (except NRIs and Foreign Nationals). The final selection for all categories except NRIs and Foreign Nationals will be based on the following:
- Performance in group task, written communication and personal interview
- Composite score obtained by the candidate as explained earlier.
For shortlisted NRIs and Foreign Nationals, the final selection will be based on a personal interview which shall be conducted online.
