Does JCECEB publish a JCECE LE syllabus?
Yes. JCECEB released a chapter-wise syllabus for the Engineering Entrance Competitive Examination (Lateral Entry) in 2024, and that is still the latest one on its site. The 2026 prospectus repeats that the papers are set at diploma first and second semester level. Use the 2024 syllabus until a 2027 version appears.

- Coordinate geometry: points, straight lines and circles
- Vectors: dot and cross products
- Functions, limits and continuity, including hyperbolic functions

What is the JCECE LE 2027 exam pattern and marking scheme?

The test is a 2-hour 30-minute OMR paper. Each correct answer earns 1 mark and each wrong answer loses 0.25 mark. If marks are tied, Mathematics marks decide the rank first, then Physics.

How should I prepare for JCECE LE 2027?
- Start with your diploma first and second semester Applied Physics, Applied Chemistry and Mathematics notes, since the syllabus follows them.
- Give Mathematics extra time: it breaks ties and carries 50 marks.
- Chemistry here is applied chemistry, so revise water, corrosion, metallurgy and materials, not only theory.
- Practise 150 questions in 150 minutes on an OMR sheet.
- Skip questions you cannot narrow down, because of the 0.25 negative mark.
