What is in the PGCET MBA syllabus?
The MBA paper has five sections that test general aptitude rather than any degree subject.
- Computer Awareness: computer basics, CPU, memory, input and output devices, data representation, binary arithmetic, operating systems.
- Analytical Ability and Logical Reasoning: puzzles, diagrams, analogy, verbal and analytical ability.
- Quantitative Analysis: arithmetic, data analysis and interpretation, statistical analysis.
- English Language: grammar, synonyms, antonyms, sentence correction, one-word substitution, idioms, famous English books.
- General Knowledge: Indian and global business environment, economics, management, current affairs, sports, awards, science, entrepreneurship and business communication.
What is in the PGCET MCA syllabus?
The MCA paper has five sections, with Mathematics at about the 10+2 and degree level.
- Mathematics: algebra, coordinate geometry, Boolean algebra, trigonometry, probability and statistics.
- Computer Awareness: computer basics, data representation, binary arithmetic, operating systems.
- Analytical Ability and Logical Reasoning: logical, quantitative and visuospatial reasoning.
- General Awareness: business, finance, industry, governance, healthcare, science, entrepreneurship.
- General English: grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, sentence correction, jumbled paragraphs.
What is in the PGCET M.E./M.Tech syllabus?
Every M.E./M.Tech stream paper shares three common parts (Engineering Mathematics, C Programming for problem solving and Technical English) and then covers the core subjects of that stream.

Engineering Mathematics covers linear algebra, calculus, vector calculus, differential equations, transforms, probability and statistics, and numerical methods.
What is the PGCET 2027 exam pattern and marking scheme?
Each PGCET paper has 100 multiple choice questions worth 1 mark each, with no negative marking, answered on an OMR sheet in a 2-hour slot (as in 2026).
- The question paper comes in four versions, and the version code is printed on the cover.
- Shading more than one option for a question gets no marks.
- Non-programmable calculators are allowed only in the M.E./M.Tech paper.
- There is no PGCET paper for M.Arch or for Bio-Technology, Chemical, Environmental, Polymer Science and Textile Technology.

How should I prepare for PGCET 2027?
- Start from the syllabus PDF for your exact paper, since each M.Tech stream has its own subject list.
- For MBA and MCA, practise speed on reasoning, quantitative and English questions, and read business news for general knowledge.
- For M.Tech, revise Engineering Mathematics and C programming as well, because every stream paper includes them.
- Attempt every question: there is no negative marking.
