MAH CET 2018 Preparation Tips
The key point is consistency and hard work. To prepare for any entrance exam, the examinee must know about the exam pattern and syllabus of it. The CET exam consists of four parts mixed together:
- Verbal ability:
- Vocabulary: It can be built and improved by studying ‘Word power made easy’ and ‘Vocabulary.com’
- Reading comprehension: The aim is to increase the speed of reading as well as improve comprehension. You may read editorials from The Hindu/ Mint/ & Economic Times/ Business Standard. This will help you during your interviews/ during your MBA as well.
- Grammar: Again reading editorials helps. But practicing from the material provided by any reputed institute is a must.
- Data Interpretation: Mug up the common ratios and corresponding percentages initially (eg. 1/8 = 12.5%, 1/6 = 16.67% etc.) If the data given is complex, simplify it (eg. if 235986/ 332645 is one of the steps, simplify it to 2/3 = 66.67% which can be approximately taken as 70% for ease of calculation). You have to practice this a lot to see the trend and get as close to the real value as possible. Also, practice is a must. Students should learn the formulas or even make notes on them.
- Quantitative ability: Focus on the main topics initially: Number system, Geometry, Ratio-proportion, Probability, Permutation combination etc. and practice as much as you can.
- Logical Reasoning: For this section, you may study from R.S. Agarwal.
