In both 2018 booklets, Part I (multiple choice on an OMR sheet, 0.5 to 3 marks per question) adds up to 70 marks and Part II (subjective, answered in the booklet) to 30 marks.
In 2018 the Prelims also counted toward the B.Des final result: Careers360 reported a 30% Prelims and 70% Mains weightage. Since then NID has moved to using the Prelims only for shortlisting.
