What does the NPAT 2027 Quantitative Reasoning section test?
It tests Class 10 level maths applied in reasoning-style questions. The official sample paper includes these types:
- Quantity comparison: decide whether Quantity A or Quantity B is greater, equal, or cannot be determined
- Always / Sometimes / Never statements on algebra and number properties
- Arithmetic word problems: time and work, ratios, percentages, mixtures
- Algebra: functions, linear equations, exponents
- Geometry and mensuration: triangles, cones, cuboids
- Data interpretation from charts and tables
- Statistics: averages, median, arithmetic progressions
What does the NPAT 2027 Logical Reasoning section test?
It tests how you draw conclusions from information. The sample paper has:
- Puzzles and arrangement sets (who lives where, who owns what)
- Conclusions that follow from one or more statements
- Inferences from a given diagram or image
- Odd one out among five options
- Figure completion: choose what fills the blank in a pattern
What does the NPAT 2027 Verbal Reasoning section test?
It tests reading and English usage. The sample paper has:
- Sentence completion
- Reading comprehension: a passage with inference and true/false questions
- Para-jumbles: rearrange sentences into a paragraph
- Cloze passage: fill four numbered blanks in a passage
- Error spotting: find the incorrect word, or choose No error
What is the NMIMS NPAT 2027 exam pattern and marking?

- Duration: 100 minutes for the whole test, computer-based at a Pearson VUE centre.
- Each question carries 1 mark; there is no negative marking.
- Most questions in the sample paper have five options (A to E).
- You can take one main test and up to two retakes; the best score counts.
Where can you get the official NPAT sample paper?
NMIMS has published one sample paper with answer keys on the NPAT website: Official NPAT sample paper (PDF). It has 60 questions, 20 in each section, so it shows the question types but is half the length of the real test. A copy is also on aglasem docs (Open PDF).

How should you prepare for NMIMS NPAT 2027?
- Revise Class 9 and 10 maths: arithmetic, algebra, geometry, mensuration and basic statistics.
- Practise quantity comparison questions, which are rare in other Indian entrance tests.
- Read an English newspaper or long-form articles daily for comprehension and vocabulary.
- Solve puzzle sets and statement-conclusion questions against a timer.
- Take the full 120 questions in 100 minutes in practice; that is under a minute per question.
- Book your first attempt early, so you have time for a retake if needed.
