The OUAT Eligibility Criteria 2018 indicates the minimum eligibility conditions that the candidates need to satisfy for appearing in the OUAT 2018 entrance exam. The criteria of eligibility for OUAT 2018 entrance exam will be determined by the Orissa University of Agriculture & Technology for all courses. Age Limit: The candidate must have complete 17 years of age.

For UG Courses

B.Tech (Ag. Engg.) 10+2 passed with Science subjects with minimum 50% aggregate marks (40% for SC/ST/PH candidates). PCM

Students admitted into B.Sc.(Hons.)Agriculture/ B.Sc.(Hons.)Horticulture / B.Sc.(Hons.) Forestry /B.Sc.(Hons.)Community Science without having Mathematics or Biology at the +2 level will have to make up their deficiency by taking pre-requisite courses in the subject (Mathematics / Biology) to be offered during the first two semesters.

Eligibility requirement (B.Sc. Forestry)

The candidates seeking admission in B.Sc.(Hons.) Forestry Course should qualify the Physical Endurance Test to be conducted one day before their respective day of the counseling of each category, failing which their candidature for the admission into B.Sc.(Hons.)Forestry course will not be considered.

M.Sc (Microbiology) 3 years B.Sc. (with Honours/Core/Major in Botany / Zoology /Microbiology / Biotechnology) / B.Sc. (Ag.) / B.V.Sc. & A.H / B.F.Sc./B.Sc.(Horticulture)/B.Tech.(Dairy Science/Biotechnology)/B.H.M.S with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST).

For Ph.D Programme

Ph.D Course Minimum Qualification
Physics M.Sc in Physics with minimum 55% marks.
Chemistry M.Sc in Chemistry with minimum 55% marks.
Mathematics M.Sc in Mathematics with minimum 55% marks.
Botany M.Sc in Botany with minimum 55% marks.
Zoology M.Sc in Zoology with minimum 55% marks.
Microbiology M.Sc in Microbiology with minimum 6.5% or OGPA 6.5.

Additional eligibility criteria that aspirants need to fulfill to secure admission in Master’s programs offered at OUAT are as mentioned below:

  1. Those who have passed H.S.C./Equivalent Examination with Odia as M.I.L. (These candidates need not submit the Residential Certificate).
  2. Those who do not have Odia as M .I. L., but whose parents are permanent residents of Odisha must furnish evidence of such permanent residency in the form of a certificate from the Revenue Officer concerned not below the rank of Tahasildar /District Magistrate / their employer concerned
  3. Those who do not have Odia as M.I.L but whose parents are not permanent residents of Odisha, but serving under the Govt. of Odisha/Central Govt. /Public Undertaking or any University in the State of Odisha. The candidate must furnish a certificate to this effect from the Head of the Office /Institution where his/her parent(s) is/are working.
  4. Odia candidates permanently residing outside Odisha must furnish a certificate in support of their Odisha origin either from their Employer (Tahasildar / District Magistrate of the District in which he/she is residing. Certificate to this effect can also be submitted from the Tahasildar / District Magistrate of their native place Odisha.
  5. No affidavit for the above categories shall be entertained.
