HP PAT previous year question papers for 2022 and 2023, the HP polytechnic entrance run by Himachal Pradesh Takniki Shiksha Board (HPTSB), are free to download here: a memory-based 2022 paper and the scanned 2023 Series B booklet, both in English and Hindi, along with HPTSB’s 2019 answer keys for Series A to D. The polytechnic entrance has 150 Class 10 level questions in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English for 600 marks in 3 hours, and both papers follow that layout, so solve them before the test expected in May or June 2027.

How to Use HP PAT Previous Year Papers?
- Work at 72 seconds a question. 150 questions in 3 hours. Mathematics and Physics are 100 of the 150, so give them about two hours and keep the rest for Chemistry and English.
- Guess only when you can narrow it down. A wrong answer costs 1 mark against 4 for a right one, and a blank costs nothing. Answer when you can rule out at least one option.
- Solve the 2023 booklet first. It is a scan of the real Series B paper. Its pages are not all in order, so follow the printed question and page numbers, and check answers against your NCERT books.
- Use 2022 as a second mock. It is memory based, so a few questions may differ in wording. About seven months remain before the 2027 test, with applications expected from April 2027.

How many questions are there in HP PAT?

Is there negative marking in HP PAT?
Yes. A correct answer gets 4 marks and a wrong answer loses 1 mark. Unanswered questions get no marks.
Do the HP PAT papers have answer keys or solutions?
No. The 2022 and 2023 papers have no key. The 2019 page has HPTSB’s answer keys for Series A to D, but not the 2019 question paper.
Can I use the 2019 key with the 2023 paper?
No. Question order differs between series and years, so a key only matches its own booklet.
Is the HP PAT paper in Hindi?
Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry questions are in English and Hindi. The English section is in English only.
