HP PAT 2027 is the Polytechnic Admission Test of the Himachal Pradesh Takniki Shiksha Board (HPTSB), Dharamshala, for Class 10 pass students seeking first-year admission to 3-year engineering and architecture assistantship diplomas in Himachal polytechnics. It is not announced yet; the application is expected in April 2027 and the test in May or June 2027.

HPTSB has not announced the PAT-2027 schedule yet, so the 2027 dates below are expected months. In 2026 the form opened on 1 April and the test, first set for 17 May, was moved to 7 June.

How to Apply for HP PAT 2027
You apply for HP PAT 2027 online through the Online Admission link on hptechboard.com, which opens the Eakadamik admission portal. The 2027 form is expected in April 2027; the steps and fee below follow the 2026 prospectus.
Apply Online for HP PAT 2027
Applications for HP PAT 2027 are expected in April 2027.
- Open hptechboard.com, click Online Admission and choose the PAT (1st year diploma in engineering) registration link.
- Click New User Registration, fill in the basic details and submit. Your login details are sent by email and SMS.
- Log in and complete the form: test station, personal details, domicile, category and sub-category, and address. Category choices decide your counselling quota, so fill them carefully.
- Upload your photograph and signature (JPG or PNG, up to 1 MB each) and enter your Class 10 board, roll number and year.
- Pay the fee online by debit card, credit card, net banking or UPI. Your permanent registration number is generated after payment; print the form.

You do not choose colleges or courses in the form. Institute and course choices are filled on the same portal only after the PAT result. For help with the form, HPTSB ran a toll-free helpline, 1800-180-8025, on working days from 10 AM to 5 PM in 2026.
Who can apply for HP PAT 2027?
You can take HP PAT if you have passed Class 10 with at least 35% marks from a recognised board, as set by AICTE and COA. Students who are appearing in Class 10 can also take the test provisionally; their eligibility is checked at counselling.
- There is no subject condition in the 2026 prospectus beyond passing Class 10 with 35%.
- Candidates from other states can apply. Reserved category and sub-category benefits are only for bonafide Himachali candidates.
- 15% of seats are filled as All India Quota seats; the rest are general HP seats, with management seats in private polytechnics.
What is the HP PAT 2027 exam pattern?
HP PAT is one 3-hour paper of 150 multiple choice questions, answered on an OMR sheet with a blue or black pen. Each correct answer earns 4 marks and each wrong answer loses 1 mark, so the paper is out of 600. The HP PAT 2027 syllabus gives the chapter-wise question split.

There is no re-evaluation or re-checking of OMR sheets. Calculators, log tables and mobile phones are not allowed in the hall.
How does admission work after HP PAT?
Seats are given strictly on PAT marks through online counselling run on the same portal. You must score at least 15% (General) or 10% (reserved categories) to qualify. If two candidates have equal marks, the older one ranks higher.
- In 2026 there were three online rounds, with allotments on 2 July, 21 July and 6 August, then a centralised spot round at Govt. Polytechnic Sundernagar on 12 to 14 August and an institute-level spot round on 10 September.
- Candidates who did not take PAT or did not qualify can apply from round 2. They get seats only after qualified PAT candidates, on Class 10 merit.
- 5% supernumerary seats are kept under the Tuition Fee Waiver scheme.
