What is in the MAH MCA CET Mathematics and Statistics syllabus?
Mathematics and Statistics has 30 questions for 60 marks and covers high school mathematics up to Class 12. The topics are:
- Algebra: fundamental operations, expansion, factorisation, quadratic equations, indices, logarithms, arithmetic, geometric and harmonic progressions, binomial theorem, permutations and combinations.
- Coordinate geometry: Cartesian coordinates, equation of a line, mid-point, intersections, equation of a circle, distance formulae, pair of straight lines, parabola, ellipse, hyperbola, and translation, rotation and scaling.
- Differential equations: first-order equations, linear equations with constant coefficients, homogeneous linear equations.
- Trigonometry: simple identities, trigonometric equations, properties and solution of triangles, heights and distances, inverse functions.
- Probability and statistics: basic probability, averages, dependent and independent events, frequency distributions, dispersion, skewness and kurtosis, random variables, expectation, binomial, Poisson and normal distributions, curve fitting, least squares, correlation and regression.
- Arithmetic: ratio and proportion, time and work, speed and distance, percentages.
- Basic set theory and functions: sets, relations and mappings.
- Mensuration: areas of triangles, quadrilaterals and circles, volumes and surface areas of cubes, spheres, cylinders and cones.
What is asked in Logical/Abstract Reasoning?
Logical/Abstract Reasoning has 30 questions for 60 marks and tests how quickly and logically you think. Questions are built on logical situations and facts given in a passage, and check your problem-solving ability.
Practise common reasoning types such as series, coding-decoding, arrangements, blood relations, directions, syllogisms and figure-based puzzles, since the brochure does not give a fixed topic list.
What is in the English Comprehension and Verbal Ability syllabus?
English has 20 questions for 40 marks and tests your general understanding of English. The topics are basic grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, synonyms and antonyms, sentence correction, words and phrases, and jumbled paragraphs.
What is in the Computer Concepts syllabus?
Computer Concepts has 20 questions for 40 marks. The topics are:
- Computer basics: organisation of a computer, CPU, structure of instructions, input/output devices, memory and memory organisation, backup devices.
- Data representation: characters, integers and fractions; binary and hexadecimal; binary addition, subtraction, multiplication and division; signed and two’s complement arithmetic; floating point and normalised floating point; Boolean algebra, truth tables and Venn diagrams.
- Computer architecture: block structure of computers, communication between processor and I/O devices, interrupts.
- Computer language: assembly and high-level languages, programming in C.
- Operating system basics.
What is the MAH MCA CET 2027 marking scheme?
Each of the 100 multiple-choice questions carries 2 marks, with four options and no negative marking. The test runs for 90 minutes in English, and an unanswered question scores zero.

How should I prepare for MAH MCA CET 2027?
- Give most time to Mathematics and Reasoning, which together carry 120 of the 200 marks.
- Revise Class 11 and 12 algebra, coordinate geometry, probability and statistics from NCERT books, then add arithmetic topics such as percentages and time-work.
- For Computer Concepts, focus on number systems, binary arithmetic, Boolean algebra and C basics.
- Take full 100-question tests in 90 minutes. With no negative marking, answer every question.
