TMISAT 2027: Dates, Eligibility, Pattern, Selection

TMISAT 2027 is the online entrance test that Tolani Maritime Institute (TMI), Induri, Pune, uses for admission to its B.Tech Marine Engineering and B.Sc Nautical Science programmes. TMI has not announced the 2027 dates yet. Its FAQ says forms usually open in January; in 2026 the last date to apply was 7 June.

Latest (13 October 2026): TMI has not announced the 2027 admission schedule yet. Its admission page still reads that admissions are closed for all programmes commencing August 2026.

How to Apply for TMISAT 2027

You apply for TMISAT by filling the TMI admission form online at tmi.tolani.edu; there is no separate test registration. TMI accepts only the online form and asks you not to send a hard copy. The 2027 form is not open yet, and in 2026 the last date was 7 June for both programmes.

Applications for TMISAT 2027 are expected in January 2027.

Open the Apply Now page on tmi.tolani.edu once the 2027 admission notice is out.
Fill one form only, in English. Your full name and date of birth must match your school leaving certificate.
Choose B.Tech Marine Engineering or B.Sc Nautical Science. TMI allows a switch between them until the personal interview.
Upload a recent passport-size photo, Class X and XII mark sheets, a leaving, transfer or birth certificate for age proof, and your passport if you have one.
Pay the application and online test fee. It is not refunded if you fill the form more than once.
If your Class XII result is pending, leave the marks blank and send them to TMI online as soon as the result is out.

TMI’s fee page also gives a 50% tuition fee waiver for female students. A passport is mandatory at admission, so apply for one early if you do not have it.

Who can apply for TMISAT 2027?

You can apply if you have passed or are appearing in Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and meet TMI’s age, marital status and medical rules. The 2026 rules, which are the latest published, are below.

At least 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) in Class 12. TMI’s FAQ says the 60% must be in PCM itself, not the overall aggregate.
At least 50% marks in English, in Class X or Class XII.
Age for the 2026 batch: male candidates born on or after 1 August 2005; female candidates born on or after 1 August 2003. TMI gives the 2027 limits in its next admission notice.
Only unmarried candidates are considered.
You must qualify IMUCET (Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test) as well as TMISAT. TMI does not use JEE Main or state CET marks.
B.Sc Nautical Science needs 6/6 vision in both eyes.
Students of international boards need an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

How does TMI select students through TMISAT?

TMI selects students in stages, and the final merit list combines five factors: Class 12 PCM marks, the TMISAT score, the personal interview, the IMUCET rank and medical fitness under DG Shipping guidelines.

What is the TMISAT 2027 exam pattern?

TMISAT is a 2.5-hour online test: a 30-minute personality test followed by a 2-hour test of Physics, Mathematics, and verbal and non-verbal intelligence.

According to TMI’s FAQ, the test has 200 questions in all on Physics, Mathematics, Verbal and Non-Verbal, with no negative marking in any section. TMI does not publish a section-wise split or a separate syllabus document.

What medical standards must TMISAT candidates meet?

Every selected candidate must pass a medical test against the DG Shipping fitness standards for sea service, done by a DG Shipping approved doctor after the online test.

Minimum height of 157 cm, with matching weight and a chest expansion of at least 5 cm.
No deformity of bones, joints or spine, such as flat feet or knock knees, and no healed fracture with a pin inside.
Normal hearing and eyesight as per DG Shipping rules; B.Sc Nautical Science needs 6/6 vision, and laser correction is accepted if it gives 6/6 without glasses.
TMI advises a check-up by a competent doctor before you apply.

What is the full form of TMISAT?

TMI’s own pages call it the TMI online entrance test or TMISAT and do not give an official expansion. The name ‘Tolani Maritime Institute Science Aptitude Test’ seen on some websites is not used by TMI.

Is IMUCET compulsory for admission to TMI?

Yes. TMI says qualifying both IMUCET and TMISAT is mandatory. Candidates taking IMUCET must still fill the separate TMI form.

Is there negative marking in TMISAT?

No. TMI’s FAQ says there is no negative marking in any section of the test.

When does the TMISAT 2027 application open?

TMI has not announced it yet. Its FAQ says forms are usually available on tmi.tolani.edu from January, and the 2026 form closed on 7 June 2026.

Can I apply before my Class 12 result?

Yes. You can leave the Class 12 marks blank and send them to TMI online once the result is out. If you score below 60% in PCM you become ineligible, and the form fee is not refunded.

Can girls apply to TMI through TMISAT?

Yes. TMI admits both genders, gives female candidates a two-year age relaxation and, as per its fee page, a 50% tuition fee waiver.
