UPSEE 2027: Not Held, AKTU Admission via UPTAC on JEE Main, CUET

UPSEE 2027 will not be held. Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow, last conducted UPSEE in 2020. For 2027, admission to AKTU-affiliated B.Tech, B.Arch, B.Pharm, MBA, MCA and lateral entry courses is through UPTAC counselling on JEE Main, CUET, NATA or UCEED scores, with registration expected around June 2027.

This page explains how AKTU admission works now that UPSEE is not held: which exam each course needs, UPTAC dates, how to apply and who can apply.

Is UPSEE 2027 being held?

No. UPSEE 2020 was the last edition. AKTU stopped holding its own entrance test from the 2021-22 session and now admits students through Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counselling (UPTAC), using scores of national exams such as JEE Main and CUET.

So there is no UPSEE application form, admit card, answer key or result for 2027. To join an AKTU-affiliated college in 2027, you write the national exam listed for your course and then register for UPTAC 2027. The old UPSEE question papers are still useful for practice.

UPSEE 2027 Important Dates (UPTAC Counselling)

UPTAC 2027 dates are not announced yet. In 2026, registration ran from 19 June to 23 August 2026 for most programmes and from 14 July to 10 September 2026 for B.Pharm and Pharm D, so UPTAC 2027 registration is expected to open around June 2027.

Which exam do you need for AKTU admission in 2027?

Each programme has a fixed exam (two for B.Arch and B.Des) for the main UPTAC rounds. This is Table-I of the 2026-27 UPTAC brochure; the 2027 brochure may change it, so check it when it is released.

Seats are allotted on merit in the exam listed for the main rounds. Seats left vacant go to special rounds, where the brochure also allows the other exams and qualifying-exam marks shown above.

How to Apply for UPTAC 2027 (AKTU Admission)

You apply for AKTU admission only online, on the UPTAC portal, after you have the score of the exam for your programme. The brochure says AKTU will announce the registration start date on the portal, and candidates do not post any documents at this stage.

1. Write the national exam your programme needs (JEE Main, CUET UG, CUET PG, NATA or UCEED) and keep your scorecard ready.
2. Open the UPTAC portal (uptac.samarth.edu.in) when UPTAC 2027 registration opens and register for your programme.
3. Fill in the online form, choose your category, sub-category and rural weightage if they apply, and upload your photograph and signature.
4. Pay the counselling registration fee online by credit card, debit card or net banking, then save the confirmation page and note your application number.
5. Fill your choices of institutes and branches in the order you prefer, as per the counselling schedule.
6. If a seat is allotted, report to the institute with your original certificates for verification; the fee paid after allotment is forfeited if you do not report, unless you withdraw as per the schedule.

For 2026, UPTAC also made an APAAR ID mandatory for the application, so create yours on DigiLocker before registration opens.

Who can apply for AKTU admission through UPTAC 2027?

You can apply if you passed the qualifying exam from an institution in Uttar Pradesh, or if your father or mother is domiciled in U.P., and you meet the course rules below. There is no age limit.

• B.Tech lateral entry: a 3-year engineering diploma recognised by BTE UP, or a B.Sc with Mathematics in Class 12, with 45% marks (40% for SC/ST).
• B.Pharm lateral entry: a recognised Diploma in Pharmacy with 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) and 500 hours of practical training.
• MBA: a 3-year bachelor’s degree with 50% marks (45% for SC/ST).
• MCA: BCA, B.Sc (CS/IT) or B.Tech (CSE/IT), or any degree with Mathematics at 10+2 or graduation, with 50% marks (45% for SC/ST).
• BHMCT, BFAD, BFA and Integrated MBA: Class 12 with 45% marks (40% for SC/ST); B.Des also needs 45% (40% for SC/ST) in Class 12.

Candidates from outside U.P. whose parents are not domiciled in U.P. can take only the seats offered in special round counselling. If you studied outside U.P. but a parent is domiciled in U.P., upload that parent’s domicile certificate when you register.

How does UPTAC seat allotment work?

UPTAC allots seats strictly on merit in the exam for your programme, in the order of the choices you fill and the seats open in your category. Once a seat is allotted, you cannot change the institute or branch.

• Candidates who passed the qualifying exam from a rural institution of U.P. get a 3% weightage on their entrance exam marks for UG courses, unless they claim another reservation.
• NRI candidates with the prescribed qualifications can get direct admission to UG courses on 5% of the total intake, as per the brochure.
• Results of the qualifying exam must be out before the registration deadline; otherwise you are not eligible for that year.
