WBJEE 2020 – WBJEE Board is holding West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination on February 02, 2020. The paper 1 for mathematics will be held from 11.00 am to 01.00 pm and the timing for paper 2, for physics-chemistry, is from 02.00 pm to 04.00 pm. WBJEE 2020 Admit Card
Candidates can download WBJEE admit card 2020 from wbjeeb.nic.in or the link on this page. It has only been released online and no copy of it is sent via post or e-mail. The admit card of WBJEE is an important document, as it s needed even after the exam, during the counselling and admission process, hence keep it safe.
On the exam day, candidates need to show admit card at the exam hall. With it, candidates also have to show valid id proof and a passport size coloured photograph.

WBJEE 2020 Exam Day Guidelines
Here are few important exam day guidelines for WBJEE 2020, which candidates should follow:
- Reach exam hall at least an hour before the exam.
- Candidates need to take their seat 15 minutes before the paper and only open question booklet when asked for.
- Do match details on question booklet with that in OMR.
- Use ball point pen of black or blue colour darken circles in OMR sheet. If booklet number does not matches, inform invigilator.
- Darken the complete circle to mark the answer.
- Do not tear OMR or put unnecessary mark in it.
- Round work is to be done in the question booklet.

WBJEE 2020 Exam Pattern
There are 2 papers under WBJEE 2020, which are divided into 3 categories. It is important for the candidates to understand the exam pattern of the examination, and prepare as per it. The exam pattern for WBJEE 2020 is as follows:
Mode of the Exam: WBJEE is an offline examination. Candidates have to mark answers in OMR sheet.
Duration: The candidates get 2 hours each to solve Paper 1 and Paper 2.
Number of papers: Paper 1 is for mathematics and paper 2 is for Physics and Chemistry.
Type of questions: All the questions in the exam are of multiple choice type. Candidates get 4 answer option for each question.
Number of questions: Total questions in the exam are 155. Out of these 75 questions are asked from maths and 80 from physics and chemistry.
Total Marks: The exam is of total 200 marks.
Marking scheme of WBJEE 2020: The marking scheme of WBJEE varies for each category.
Category I – Here, only 1 answer option is correct and candidates get 1 mark for choosing it.
- Negative marking in Category I is of 1/4 marks.
Category II – Even in this section, only 1 answer option is the correct answer. However, each question in this section is of 2 marks.
- Negative marking of 1/2 mark is done in this Category,
Category III – In this category, more than 1 option can be correct answer. If candidates select both the correct answers, they are allocated 2 marks.
- If both the answer options selected are wrong then no negative marking is done.
- For selecting partial correct and partial incorrect answer, 0 marks are allocated.
- If response of candidate is partially correct then marks are awarded as per below given formula.

WBJEE is being held in throughout West Bengal. However, few centers are in Assam and Tripura as well. The exam center of WBJEE is mentioned on the admit card of the candidates.

WBJEE 2020 Answer Key and Response Sheet
After the examination, WBJEEB releases answer key of WBJEE. It is released online, on wbjee.nic.in and with it, response sheet of the candidates is also provided. First, the Board releases the model answer key and candidates can challenge it. As per the valid challenges, the Board updates the model answer key. This updated answer key is final answer key, for determining the result of the candidates.
- Challenge fee – Rs. 500 per challenge.
- It can be paid via debit card, credit card, or net banking.
Candidates must download answer key and response sheet while it is available. After the publishing of result, facility to get it is not provided. However, if candidates need response sheet after result announcement then they need to contact WBJEE Board and pay Rs. 500, via demand draft. The draft is to be prepared in favour of “West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board”, payable at Kolkata. Candidates must contact within 60 days from result announcement.
Challenge WBJEE 2020 Answer Key
Candidates can challenge model answer key of WBJEE 2020, as well as, response sheet. To do so, the candidates need to access the login and selection questions in which they wish to raise objection. Candidates can raise objection in as many questions as they wish. However, they need to pay Rs. 500 per objection. The amount of fee is non-refundable and can be paid via net banking / debit card / credit card.
The board reviews all the challenges and makes correction in the answer key as per the correct objections. The answer key updates on the basis of challenges in the final answer key and on the basis of result it announced. It should be noted that challenges via fax, letter, telephone, etc is not accepted.
WBJEE 2020 Result
Result of WBJEE 2020 is published as rank card. In the rank card, details of the candidates along with score in each subject and over all rank of the candidate is mentioned. Candidates can download WBJEE rank card from the login, by entering application number and password.
The rank card of WBJEE is issued to all the applicants who appear for the exam. However, rank is only allocated to those candidates who score more than the cut off.
WBJEE 2020 Rank: WBJEE Board prepares General Merit Rank (GMR) and Pharma Merit Rank (PRM).
GMR is prepared on the basis of marks secured in Paper I and II. It is used for admission in engineering, technology, and architecture colleges. However, pharmacy admission in Jadavpur University is also done on the basis of GMR.
PMR, on the other hand, is prepared on the basis of performance in Paper II only. It is used for pharmacy admission in colleges of West Bengal.
WBJEE 2020 Counselling
The details for WBJEE counselling and seat allotment are release separately, after the announcement of the result. Generally, counselling for WBJEE is of 2 to 3 rounds and following process is followed for it:
- Register online for counselling by paying fee and creating password.
- submit choices for the course and colleges online.
- Lock the choices before the lapse of the deadline.
- Check seat allotment result from the login.
- Report at the RCs and pay provisional admission fee to accept the allocated seat.
It should be noted that register for counselling is a one time facility and seat allocation is done on the basis of rank secured in West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination. The counselling for JEE Main candidates is carried out separately.
West Bengal B.Tech / B.Pharm Admission via JEE Main 2020
In West Bengal, 10% of the total UG engineering / technology / pharmacy / architecture seats are filled via JEE Main rank. The seats are only reserved in Self-Financing Engineering and Technology Colleges of WB. Candidates who get appropriate rank in Joint Entrance Examination (Main) are called during counselling for allotment of seats.

WBJEE 2020 Application Form

Step 1: Candidates had to visit the official website and click on the application from button.
Step 2: Next, the candidates needed to register by entering following details:
- Father’s name
- Mother’s name
- Date of birth
- Identification number and type

Step 3: After registration, application number is sent to candidates via SMS and email ID. Also, the same appears on the screen and candidates had to login by entering it.

WBJEE 2020 Application Form Correction
The correction facility for WBJEE 2020 has also ended. The candidates could change all the details except few. Changes could be made from the login. Details for correction are as follows:

Form correction was a one-time facility and can be done in the online mode only. Once the changes are submitted they are considered to be the final details.
WBJEE 2020 Eligibility Criteria
Only eligible candidates get admission on the basis of WBJEE 2020. The criteria of eligibility are as follows:
Citizenship – Candidates should be a citizen of India.
Age Limit – The lower age limit for the examination is 17 years, as on December 31, 2020. There is no upper age bar.
- However, there is upper age limit for marine engineering and it is 25 years, as on December 31, 2020.
Education Qualification – To get admission in engineering courses:
- Candidate should have passed 10+2 via regular mode with maths and physics as core subject, along with chemistry / biology / biotechnology / computer science / technical vocational subject / computer application as additional subject.
- Also, candidate should have secured aggregate of 45% marks in all the three subjects. The minimum marks needed for SC, ST, OBC, PwD candidates is 40% marks.
- Besides this, candidates must secured more than 30% marks in English in 10+2, done from a recognized board.
To get admission in engineering courses:
- Candidates should have passed 10+2, in regular mode, with physics, mathematics / biology, and chemistry as core subject.
- Minimum marks secured by candidates in these 3 subjects should be more than 45% marks but for SC / ST / OBC / PwD candidates it is 40% marks.
- Also, candidates should have studied English in 10+2 and must have got more than 30% marks.
Note: Candidates who have done 10+2 from non class room-based schooling system, like NIOS, are not eligible for B.Pharm admission.

Government of West Bengal formulated WBJEE Board for conducting entrance exams in the state. The board holds 7 examination, for admission of candidates in engineering, pharmacy, B.Sc. nursing, BPT, BASLP, BMLT, MCA, etc. courses.
