WBJEE 2020 Result
WBJEEB is not responsible to publish any rank list for admission. The board decides the cutoff marks for ranking purposes and allots rank via the rank cards. The counselling body is responsible to prepare the rank list for counseling and admission. The full schedule of WBJEE 2020 result is given below:

How to Download WBJEE 2020 Rank Card?
The result for West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination is released by WBJEEB in the online mode at its official website. For checking the respective results, all the test – takers need to check the steps given below.
Step 1: Click on the link mentioned above or visit the official website.
Step 2: Enter the details received after filling the application form that is the application number and password.

Step 3: After providing all the details, click on the ‘submit’ button.
Step 4: Download the rank card.
Step 5: As the last step to check result, take a printout of the rank card for future references.
How is the WBJEE 2020 Result Compiled?
The WBJEE 2020 result is complied based on the scores of the candidates in the exam. As per the marks achieved by the students in the exam they get score and are ranked in the exam. The result of WBJEE is declared in the form of rank card only and no merit list is published by the board.
WBJEE 2020 rank card: In the rank card candidates can check their rank. A rank in the scorecard indicates that the candidates is eligible for counselling and admission subjected to availability seats. A rank is only allotted the candidate who qualifies the cutoff marks. The cutoff marks/ rank is decided by the board.
WBJEE 2020 Merit List Details – GMR and PMR
The board may not prepare a rank list for admission. However, they allot rank to the candidates in the rank card of WBJEE 2020. This rank is used at the time of counselling. As per the rank of the candidates in WBJEE 2020, they are called for seat allotments and admission process. Higher is the rank, better is the chances of admission. There are two types of WBJEE rank that WBJEE allots. The details about these are as follows:
General Merit Rank (GMR) – It is prepared on the basis of score secured by the candidates in paper I and paper II, i.e., score secured by the candidates in Mathematics and Physics-Chemistry paper. It is used for engineering / technology / architecture / pharmacy admission in the state of West Bengal.
Pharmacy Merit Rank (PMR) – This rank list is only prepared only on the basis of marks secured in paper II, i.e. in Physics-Chemistry paper. On the basis of PMR, only pharmacy seats in the colleges of West Bengal is filled, except for the seats in Jadavpur University.
WBJEE 2020 Tie Breaker Criteria
In case of two or more candidates obtain an equal score in the entrance examination, in such a case, the tie resolves through the following methods in the following order for WBJEE 2020 result:
Tie-breaking Rule for GMR
For GMR the tie breaking rule shall be applicable in following order:
- Higher rank to candidates who score less negative marks in all 3 subjects- physics, chemistry, and maths.
- Better rank is given to candidates with more positive marks in physics and maths together.
- Better rank is given to candidates with more positive marks in chemistry and maths together.
- Higher rank is given to candidates with less negative marks in physics and maths together.
- Higher rank is given to candidates with less negative marks in chemistry and maths together.
- Candidate with more positive marks in Mathematics in only the 2 marks questions is placed higher.
- Candidate with more positive marks in physics in only the 2 marks questions is placed higher.
- Candidate with more positive marks in chemistry in only the 2 marks questions is placed higher.
- Higher rank is given to candidates with less negative marks in maths in 2 marks questions.
- Higher rank is given to candidates with less negative marks in physics in 2 marks questions.
Tie-breaking Rule for PMR
The order of tie breaking for the pharmacy merit rank is:
- Higher rank is given to candidate with less negative marks in Physics & Chemistry
- Better rank is give n t the candidate with more positive marks in Chemistry
- Better rank is given to the candidate with less negative marks in Chemistry
- The, higher rank is given to the student with more positive marks in Chemistry for only the 2 marks questions
- A higher rank is allotted to a candidate with less negative marks in Chemistry for only the 2 marks questions
- A student with ore positive marks in Physics for only the 2 marks questions, gets better rank
- Candidate with less negative marks in Physics for only the 2 marks questions, gets a better rank
In case tie still exists:
Lastly, if the tie is not yet resolved then the date of birth of the candidates is used for tie breaking for both GMR and PMR. The older candidate shall be ranked higher.
WBJEE Cut Off 2020
The cut off for WBJEE 2020 is the minimum qualifying marks which the candidate needs to obtain in the entrance examination to qualify it. WBJEEB does not reveal the minimum marks needed to qualify the exam. However, it provides opening and closing rank on the basis of admission in the colleges is granted.
- Opening rank is the highest rank from which the admission started ina college
- Closing rank is the minimum rank at which the admission was closed in a college
The closing rank is the last rank at which admission is done, hence, it the cut off rank for admission in a college. However, candidates should note that it is not static and keeps on changing.

How to Recover WBJEE 2020 Login Credentials to Check WBJEE 2020 Result
The result for WBJEE is released online and application number with password is needed to check it. However, if the candidates have forgotten their login credentials then they may follow the steps below.
Step 1: Go to the official website or click on the link available on this page.
Step 2: The link leads to WBJEE 2020 login. There, the candidates need to click on “Forgot Password” link or “Forgot Application No” link.

Step 3: If candidates have to recover password, then they get 3 options for:

- Using security question and its answer you chosen during form filling.
- Using a verification code sent via text message (SMS) to your registered mobile no.
- Using a reset link sent via email to your registered email address.
From these options candidates can recover their password.
However, if candidates select application number number, then candidates have to enter following details to recover the application number:

- Father’s name

What is a WBJEE Duplicate Rank Card?
Ever year, there are cases when the candidates misplace their rank card and are not able to appear for the counselling because during counseling and final admission, rank card is needed. In that case, a duplicate rank card can be obtained. It can be obtained until 60 days after the decalaration of the result.
The candidates who need the duplicate rank card can avail it by submitting Rs 500 via bank draft in the name of “West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board” payable in Kolkata.
WBJEE Counselling 2020
The candidates who qualify the examination need to appear for the counselling rounds which are included in the admission process after giving WBJEE. Soon after the declaration of the result, the counselling schedule is released at wbjeeb. in and wbjee.nic.in. The candidates are required to appear at the counselling venue with propr set of documents.
WBJEE 2020 counselling consists of the online choice filling of the candidates, choice locking, seat allotment, document verification at the counselling centres. For the final round of counselling, the candidates need to appear in person for taking a seat.

About WBJEE
WBJEE 2020 is a state level examination, conducted by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board. The exam is held for filling UG engineering and pharmacy seats in the colleges of West Bengal. Candidates securing appropriate rank get admission in B.Tech, B.E, or B.Pharm course.
Candidates who do not appear for WBJEE but appeared for JEE Main and fulfill eligibility criteria can also get admission during WBJEE counselling, on the basis of JEE Main AIR.
