AYUSH, is a governmental body in India purposed with developing, education and research in Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Homoeopathy, and other Indigenous Medicine systems. The announcement was made by the Minister of State for Ayush, Sripad Yesso Naik at the health editors’ conference in New Delhi. Ministry of Ayush has notified that BHMS, BAMS and BUMS Admission from 2018 will be done on the basis of NEET scores of the candidates.
BHMS or Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery is a UG academic degree course which covers medical knowledge of the homoeopathic system. BHMS course is of 5½ year duration which includes an internship. The course can be pursued after completion of 10+2 level of education with 50% marks in aggregate.
BHMS Admission through NEET
The result of NEET is the basis for admission to BHMS courses in colleges across India. Candidates who have appeared in National Eligibility Entrance Test and also qualified in it with minimum percentile cut off marks, can participate in the Counselling and get BHMS Admission Through NEET.
CBSE conducts National Eligibility Entrance Test and declares the result. Along with the announcement of the result, Various institutes releases the admission details in BHMS Programmes. In order to get admission candidates have to fill an application form and participate in the counselling process to be conducted by the corresponding College/Institution.

Eligibility For Admission: The candidate must have qualified National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG) conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education in order to get admitted in the BHMS Programme.
Admission to University / Institutes in BHMS course is done through entrance exam. Candidates need to go through NEET entrance exams conducted at the national level. Candidates are selected based on marks obtained in the NEET entrance exam.Those candidates who will successfully be cleared the entrance test can appear for Counselling for admissions.
Once the NEET result is announced by the Central Board of Secondary education. A merit list of candidates who have qualified the exam will be released on the official website. After that candidates have to fill an application form of the college or institution in which s/he wants to get admission in BHMS Programme.
Date of counselling & subsequent admission will be notified in the Institute’s website after getting necessary permission from Ministry of Ayush, Govt. of India.+
Reservation: Reservation and relaxations may exist, based on caste, NRI quota, donation quota etc. One will have to enquire with the state wise admission authority and/or institute to get details about reservation status.
