The GATE 2027 admit card will be released by IIT Madras on the GOAPS portal, and is expected in January 2027. IIT Madras will notify exam cities on 4 January 2027. You must bring a printed copy, preferably in colour on A4 paper, with your original photo ID to the exam between 6 and 21 February 2027.

How to Download the GATE 2027 Admit Card
You download the GATE 2027 admit card only from the GOAPS portal; it is not sent by post or email.
- Go to gate2027.iitm.ac.in and open the GOAPS login.
- Log in with your enrollment ID or email and your password.
- Open the admit card link on your dashboard.
- Check your name, photo, signature, paper, exam centre, date and session.
- Download the PDF and print it, preferably in colour, on A4 paper.
If your photo or signature is unclear, the admit card is not valid, so contact your zonal GATE office at once.
What details are printed on the GATE 2027 admit card?
The admit card carries the details you will be checked against at the centre.
- Name, photograph and signature
- Registration or enrollment number
- Paper code and name (and second paper, if any)
- Exam date and session (forenoon or afternoon)
- Exam centre address
- Exam day instructions
What documents should you carry to the GATE 2027 exam?
Carry the printed admit card and the same original photo ID you entered in your application.

- Original valid photo ID: Aadhaar, Aadhaar virtual ID, passport, PAN card, voter ID, driving licence or another government-issued photo ID
- Original documents, if you registered with an unverified DigiLocker account

What are the GATE 2027 exam day rules?
Reach early: you can take your seat 40 minutes before the exam and read the instructions 20 minutes before it starts.
- You cannot log in after 15 minutes from the start, and you cannot leave before the exam ends.
- Use only the on-screen virtual calculator; physical calculators are not allowed.
- Mobile phones, smart or digital watches, Bluetooth devices, wallets, books, papers and pen or pencil pouches are banned in the hall.
- You get a scribble pad for rough work; write your name and registration number on it and return it at the end.
- Malpractice can lead to a ban from GATE for the next 3 years.
