What pattern should a GATE 2027 practice paper follow?
A full GATE 2027 practice paper should match the real test: 65 questions, 100 marks and 3 hours on screen.

Questions are MCQ, MSQ or NAT. Only wrong MCQs lose marks: 1/3 for a 1-mark and 2/3 for a 2-mark question.
Is there an official GATE 2027 mock test?
Yes. IIT Madras gives mock exam links, the virtual scientific calculator and past GATE papers from 2007 to 2026 through the GATE 2027 website.
Take the official mock at least once before the exam to get used to the screen layout, the question palette and the on-screen calculator.
How should I use GATE sample papers?
- Finish a subject from the GATE 2027 syllabus before you try its questions.
- Take each sample paper in one 3-hour sitting, using only an on-screen or basic calculator.
- Score it with the GATE marking scheme, including negative marks for wrong MCQs.
- List the topics where you lost marks and revise them before the next paper.
