What is the IISER IAT 2027 syllabus based on?
The IAT syllabus is based on NCERT Class 11 and 12. The topic list in the official brochure follows NCERT chapter names, so the NCERT textbooks are the core resource.
All four subjects carry equal weight: 15 questions and 60 marks each. Every candidate gets the same paper, whichever IISER programme they want.

The Chemistry syllabus has 19 topics across physical, inorganic and organic chemistry.

The Physics syllabus follows the NCERT Class 11 and 12 Physics chapters from units and measurements to semiconductor electronics.

- Properties of matter: mechanical properties of solids and fluids, thermal properties of matter
- Heat: thermodynamics, kinetic theory

What is the IISER IAT 2027 exam pattern?
IAT is a 180-minute computer-based test with 60 multiple-choice questions and a maximum of 240 marks.

How should you prepare for the IAT 2027 syllabus?
- Finish the NCERT Class 11 and 12 textbooks in all four subjects, since the topic list follows them.
- Prepare all four subjects even if you dropped one in Class 12; every section carries 60 marks.
- Attempt carefully: a wrong answer costs 1 mark, while a correct one earns 4.
