Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi was founded in 1961 since then over 35,000 students have graduated from IIT, Delhi in various fields such as HUmanities, Engineering, Management and Technology in India. The campus is divided into four zones. It has a total of 13 hostels 11 for boys and 2 for the girls. In 2018, the institute was given the status of “Institute of Eminence” by Government of India. IIT Delhi Admissions
IIT Delhi, offers a total of 10 undergraduate and postgraduate courses and a few Ph.D programs and the selection for all the programs is done through different competitive exams such as JEE Advanced, CAT and GATE/ JAM.

Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)
JEE is a National level undergraduate admission test for B.Tech and B.E programs offered by IITs, NITs, CFTIs. Candidates who qualify JEE Main examination are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced. JEE is conducted by National Testing Agency. JEE Main exams are conducted twice in a year. It is a computer based exam conducted for a 3 hour duration. JEE Main scores are used for admission in NITs and CFITs while JEE Advanced scores are used for admission in IITs.
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)
The exam is conducted for students who seek admission in Masters program and direct doctoral degree in Engineering/ Technology and Architecture or Doctoral programs in branches of science in institutes supported by government agencies and MHRD. GATE scores are valid for 3 years from the date of announcement of results.
Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED)
IIT, Bombay conducts CEED to provide admission in M.Des. and P.hD programs offered at colleges accepting CEED score. The exam is divided into three parts one to be attempted in online mode and the other to be attempted in offline mode and the last is an interview round. The exam is conducted once in a year and the duration of the exam is 3 hours. A total of 8 colleges accept CEED score.
Joint Admission Test (JAM)
Joint Admission test is conducted for admission in M.Sc. programmes at IITs and IISc. The exam is conducted for seven science subjects. The exam is conducted once in a year in online mode for a duration of 3 hours. There is no age limit to appear in the exam and candidates from all over the world can apply for this exam. The paper consists of 3 types of question MCQ, MSQ and NAT.

Over 350 companies from all over India show their interest to recruit students from IIT, Delhi. International companies form Japan, Singapore and US recruited students from IIT, Delhi with the largest offer from Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing company. Students opt for more core jobs i.e. Information Technology stream. IIT, Delhi also conducts sessions and programs to improve soft skills of their students to get the best placement.

IIT, Delhi is a public engineering institute located in Hauz Khas, New Delhi. It was established in 1961. The campus is spread in 325 acres and is covered by shri Aurobindo Marg on the east, Jawaharlal Nehru University complex on the west and National Council of Educational Research and Training on the south and New ring road on the north.
