How is the JEE Advanced 2020 Result Compiled?
The JEE Advanced 2020 Result is available in 2 formats. The compilation of both is given below:
JEE Advanced 2020 Scorecard compilation: Via the score card of JEE Advanced 2020, the candidates can check their qualifying status, and the subject wise marks. The aggregate marks of all the subject is also made available.
- The subjects wise marks is based on the number of correct and wrong attempts by the students in the exam.
- The total marks are the summation of the score in all the 3 subjects.
- The qualifying status is available as per the category of the candidates.
How are the marks in 3 subjects calculated?
– Marks in physics is added in paper 1 and 2
– Marks in maths in added in paper 1 and 2
– Similarly, marks in chemistry are added in paper 1 and 2
JEE Advanced 2020 Rank List: The rank list of JEE Advanced 2020 is prepared cayegory wise and the candidaes who qualify their category wise cutoff are place in the rank list. The ranks are given to the candidates as per their score in the exam.
In case 2 or more candidates get the same score in the exam, then their tie is resolved using the process below:
- Candidates having higher positive marks are awarded a higher rank.
- If the tie is still there then the candidate with higher marks in maths is given preference.
- If the tie is still there, then the candidate with higher marks in physics is given preference.
- Still, if the tie is existing then the candidates are awarded the same rank.

How Do I know if I have qualified JEE Advanced 2020
Once the result is out the sciorecard of the candidaes clearly states that whether or not they have passed the exam. You pass the exam if you get more than or equal to the cutoff marks of your category.
Note these special cases:
- Even if you do not qualify the cutoff marks for the Common Rank List (CRL) there are chances that you shall qualify the cutoff of other category rank list if you have applied under any category.
- The candidates who qualify the cutoff of any category list then they are included in that particular list and not in the CRL.

After JEE Advanced 2020 Result – JoSAA Counselling
After the result is out the candidae declared qualifued can appear for the JoSAA counselling. It is a process via which all the candidaes are allotted seats in the IITs as per their ranks, cjoice of institution and course and the availability of seats.
Around 13,000 seats are distributed among the qualified candidates via this centralised counselling. The process includes:
- Registering for the counselling by paying a registration fee
- Filling of choices of courses and IITs
- Allotments of seats
- Practicing of choices of seat acceptance, rejection etc.
- Paying the seat acceptance fee
- reporting at the center allotted for documents verification
JEE Advanced 2020
JEE Advanced 2020 is held at the national level for admission in Bachelor’s, Integrated Masters or Bachelor-Master Dual Degree courses in Engineering, Sciences or Architecture in the IITs.
