IIT JEE Advanced 2018 Result – JEE Advanced Result 2018 will be released on June 10, 2018. Since so many students give this entrance exam, it will take time to announce the result. Students can check their result on JEE Advanced official website, the link for the same will also be provided here. Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) 2018 will lead to admission in IITs and some institutes that accept JEE Adv score. You may check your result by entering JEE Advanced Application Number and Date of Birth.

Category-wise All India Ranks (AIR) of successful candidates will be available through the online portal after the results are declared. Text messages will also be sent to the candidates to their registered mobile numbers.

Steps to check the Result of JEE Advanced 2018

Step 1: Visit the official website of JEE Advanced examination.

Step 2: Click the link Result of JEE (Adv) 2018.

Step 3: Enter your JEE Advanced Application Number and Date of Birth in the specified fields.

Step 4: Click on “Submit” button.

JEE Advanced 2018 Rank List

Candidates who will score minimum marks as prescribed in each subject and in aggregate will be included in the rank list. Only candidates who appear in both Paper 1 and Paper 2 will be considered for ranking. The marks obtained by a candidate in Physics in JEE (Advanced) 2018 will be equal to the marks scored in Physics part of Paper 1 plus the marks scored in Physics part of Paper 2. Marks obtained in Chemistry and Mathematics will be calculated in the same way. The aggregate marks obtained by a candidate in JEE (Advanced) 2018 is the sum of the marks awarded to him/her in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Rank lists are prepared based on the aggregate marks in JEE (Advanced) 2018. A candidate who qualifies in more than one category will be considered in all the categories to which he/she belongs for the purpose of ranking. There will be no waiting list for ranking. Only candidates who score the minimum prescribed marks in each subject and
in aggregate will be included in the rank list. The minimum prescribed marks varies with the category as shown in the following table.

Tie-Break Policy

If the aggregate marks scored by two or more candidates are the same, then the
following tie-break policy will be used for awarding ranks:

  • Candidates having higher positive marks will be awarded higher rank.
  • If tie remains, then Higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Mathematics. If this does not break the tie, higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Physics. If there is a tie even after this, candidates will be assigned the same rank.

Admission Criteria

Candidates qualified for JEE Advanced will be eligible for admission into academic programs in IITs. To secure your admission, you must satisfy the following eligibility criteria:

  1. Passed in class 12th (or its equivalent examination) with at least 75% marks. For SC/ST/PwD candidates aggregate marks should be at least 65%.
  2. Must be within category-wise top 20 percentile of successful candidates in their respective class 12th Board examination (or its equivalent examination)

Candidates who will fulfill these eligibility requirements have to participate in joint seat allocation process (JoSA) by filling in their choices of programs. JoSAA will conduct seven rounds of seat allotment to fill the seats in IIT.

About JEE Advanced 2018

Joint Engineering Entrance Examination Advanced is conducted for admission in various programs like Engineering, Sciences, Pharmaceutics and Architecture in various IITs:

  • Bachelors (4 year)- B.Tech, B.S., B.Pharma
  • Bachelors  (5 year)- B.Arch
  • Dual Degree (5 year)- B.Tech- M.Tech, B.S. – M.S.
  • Integrated Masters (5 year)- M.Tech, M.Sc., M.Pharm Dual Degree

JEE Advanced will consist of two papers- Paper 1 and Paper 2. Both of them are compulsory and are of duration of 3 hours each. The question paper contains objective questions on Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Question paper will be available in two language: English and Hindi. You can choose the medium of question paper at the time of registration of JEE Advanced 2018.
