How has the JEE Advanced CRL cut off changed?

Why are the cut offs lower than the brochure percentages?
The brochure prescribes 10% per subject and 35% aggregate for the CRL (9% and 31.5% for GEN-EWS and OBC-NCL; 5% and 17.5% for SC, ST and PwD). It also allows these to be lowered if needed, and in 2026 the CRL figures were cut to 7.30% per subject and 25.56% aggregate.
Is the JEE Advanced cut off the same as IIT closing ranks?
No. The cut off only decides who gets a rank. Admission to an IIT branch depends on the closing ranks in JoSAA, which vary by institute, programme, category and round and are published on josaa.nic.in.
