Application form Fee: Candidates have to pay fee of Rs. 600 after filling the details in application form.
Fee to book seat after first cut off – Rs. 10000 for general/OBC/NCL/EWS and Rs. 5000 for SC/ST/PWD.
What’s New? IIT Delhi has recently started two new courses under M.Sc. discipline with the name of M.Sc. Economics and Cognitive Science. For taking admission in these courses, the candidates need to apply separately and appear for the entrance test. It must be noted that in these courses, the admission is not sought as per the scores of JAM. The application form for M.Sc. Economics have also been released at joaps.iitd.ac.in.

Eligibility Requirements and Courses Offered at IITs
The candidates must note that every IIT offers different courses in M.Sc. The courses that are offered are M.Sc. Biotechnology, M.Sc. Chemistry, M.Sc. Physics, M.Sc. Statistics etc. The eligibility criteria for every course varies.

Joint Admission Test (JAM) 2020
Joint Admission Test (JAM) 2020 is being conducted by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur. The exam is an online computer based test. Students have to fill an application form online only to apply for the exam from the official site jam.iitk.ac.in. Students who have bachelor degree are eligible for the exam. The exam will have six test papers of biotechnology, chemistry, physics, geology, mathematics and mathematical statistics. Three different patterns of questions are going to be asked in the exam which are multiple choice questions, multiple select questions and numerical answer type questions.
Eligibility Criteria of JAM 2020
The candidates applying for the exam must follow the eligibility criteria provided below.
- Candidates must have a bachelor’s qualification degree.
- Candidates must have scored 55% or 5.5 out of 10 CGPA for General or OBC (NCL) or EWS category and 50% or 5.0 out of 10 for SC or ST or PwD category without rounding off the score.
Note:
- Students must satisfy the Minimum Educational Qualification (MEQs) and Eligibility Requirements (ERs) to take admission.
- The institute can cancel the candidature if found not fulfilling the eligibility criteria at the time of admission.
Exam Pattern of JAM 2020 – The language of the exam is English. The exam is an online computer based test having six test papers. The three sections of exam are section A, B and C. The exam carries total 60 questions of 100 marks. Section A has Multiple choice Questions (MCQ), Section B has Multiple Select Questions (MSQ) and section C has Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions. The duration of the exam is 3 hours.
Selection Process for JAM 2020
Candidates can refer to the stages provided below to get selected and take admission.
Stage 1: All Indian or foreign nationals can take admission. All the rules and regulations of getting eligible for the exam provided on the site should be satisfied by them.
Stage 2: Candidates must appear for the JAM test papers and qualify it. Students must have the minimum educational qualification (MEQ) and eligibility requirements (ER) according to those provided for each course.
Stage 3: The declaration of results or preparation of merit list is on the basis of the AIR rank of candidates which is attained on the basis of the performance of the candidates in test papers.
Stage 4: After the declaration of merit list candidates have to apply for the admissions by filling out an application form. The application form should be applied online using an admission form present on JAM Online Application Process System (JOAP) website.
Stage 5: After the decalration of merit list, the candidates are required to take admission by paying the seat booking fee. There will 3 merit lists declared.
Stage 6: After the release of third and final merit list, the admission will be closed.

Reservation of Seats covered under JAM 2020
Students can check the availability of number of seats for each programme and for each category from the complete list given for each institute. To check the seats for each category in the list students have to follow the instruction given below.
- Check programme code.
- Check the division of seats. The EWS seats are followed by General seats which are followed by OBC seats which are followed by SC seats which are followed by ST seats.
