How are scores for JAM 2020 calculated?
- Unattempted questions fetch 0 marks
- For 1 marker questions, 01 marks are awarded
- For 2 marks questions, 02 marks are awarded
- For 1 marker questions, -⅓ marks will be deducted
- For 2 marker questions. -⅔ marks will be deducted
How is All India Rank calculated?
All India Rank (AIR) is calculated according to the performance of the candidates in JAM. The ranks are assigned to all the appeared candidates.
Tie Breaker Criteria for JAM 2020
If two or more candidates get the same marks in the test, then, the following criteria is going to be followed. This is followed for awarding the ranks to the candidates.
- The candidates with the highest ratio of positive marks will be given preference.
- If the above criteria do not resolve the ties, the candidates are then, awarded the same rank.

What After Announcement of JAM 2020 Result?
After the declaration of result, the shortlisted candidates are required to appear for the counselling. Candidates can check JAM 2020 counselling schedule at jam.iitk.ac.in. The shortlisted candidates are required to fill admission form.
The candidates have to enter their choice of programmes in the admission form. A payment of Rs 600 has to be made for selecting the programmes.
