Joint Admission Test for MSc (JAM 2020) is an all-India online entrance exam conducted by Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and IISc each year on a rotational basis on behalf of Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Government of India. This national level entrance test is open for both Indian and Foreign nationals. Also, there is no age restriction to appear for the JAM exam. The candidates are offered admission in courses such as M.Sc. (Two Years), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree, and other Post-Bachelor Degree Programmes on the basis of their JAM 2020 score.

JAM 2020 Eligibility Criteria

The candidates who will be able to qualify in the JAM 2020, will also need to qualify their eligibility criteria. The candidates will need to be as per the eligibility criteria if not then the candidate’s candidature might get canceled due to the same reason. Candidates are requested to check the eligibility criteria before applying for the same. If any of the candidates are not up to the eligibility criteria then that candidates candidature might get canceled.   • The candidate must be having an aggregate of 55% in their bachelor’s degree and throughout all the subjects as well for all the General/ OBC categories.
  • Candidates belonging to the SC/ ST and PWD categories will be needing at least 50% aggregate including all the subjects.

JAM 2020 Application Form

The interested candidates who are going to apply for the JAM 2020 will be required to check the eligibility criteria before applying for the same. The Application process will be an online process and will be possible by visiting the Official website of the JAM 2020. So as to apply for the same the candidates will have to register themselves first and then furnish the important details for the same as their email id, Name, Password etc. Once the candidates will be able to register themselves successfully then they will be receiving their enrollment numbers through the help of their registered email ids. Candidates will be able to complete all the formalities regarding the admission and the application form by entering their User ID and passwords on the login page portal.

Once the candidate will be able to log in the JOAPS portal the candidates will need to furnish their details, also details like the gender, category and pwd status of the candidate will decide their final fee. Candidates can use any ID card for personal information such as:

JAM 2020 Preparation Tips

JAM 2020 Admit Card

To get the admit card the candidates will need to login JOAPS. It is also being intimated to all the applicants that the admit cards will not be sent by post/email or any other methods to the candidates. On the exam day, candidates need to carry admit card as a print copy. Along with it, candidates will also have to carry on photo id proof. Valid photo id proofs can be Aadhaar Card, Voter ID Card, Passport (front page), School / College ID, etc. The admit card of JAM 2020 will be needed even after the exam. It will carry details, such as name, registration number, subject code, photograph, signature, etc. Hence, will be treated as a proof of identity as well. So, it is advised that the candidates keep their JAM admit card safe until the end of the admission process.

JAM 2020 RANK AND MERIT LISTS

Candidates will be able to find all of their JAM 2020 Rank and Merit list from the official website. The candidates appearing for the examination will be allocated, an All India Rank (AIR) according to their performances and the scores scored by them in the examination. If any two candidates end up in having a tie due to their aggregate marks. Then the candidates will be judged by the help of tie-breaking criteria. The candidates who will be having a higher ratio of positive marks will end up in getting the privilege of the tie-breaking criteria. If the issue still persists then both the candidates will be awarded with the same rank. On the basis of the candidate’s AIR, an All India merit list will be prepared. The candidate’s number will be totally based on the basis of the, the number of seats that will be available in all of the categories and their respective subjects.

JAM 2020 Counselling

The JAM 2020 counseling will be organized once the result will be declared successfully by the concerned official authorities. The counseling process will be based totally on the basis of the merit list. Thee candidates will be able to participate for the various colleges according to their ranks scored in the merit list that will be declared after the announcement of the result.
