What is the KCET 2027 exam pattern and marking scheme?
Each subject is a separate 80-minute OMR paper of 60 questions for 60 marks, with no negative marking. Engineering candidates take Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, so their KCET total is out of 180. For engineering, the rank gives equal weight to these KCET marks and to your 2nd PUC or Class 12 marks in the same subjects.

Which books should I use for KCET 2027?
KEA’s own syllabus lists the latest NCERT Class 11 and 12 textbooks, and the NCERT laboratory manuals for Physics, as the reference books.
- Start with the NCERT textbook for each subject, since the KCET units follow its chapters.
- Revise the experimental skills and practical chemistry and biology units; they are part of the syllabus.
- Practise with past papers in timed 80-minute sittings, one subject at a time.
- Keep up your 2nd PUC marks, because they count for half of an engineering rank.
