Eligibility Criteria for JEE Main 2019

Subject combinations required in the qualifying examination for admission in B.E/ B.arch courses.

B.E/ Passed 10+2 Examination with Mathematics as compulsory subjects Along with any one of Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subject

How to fill the JEE Main 2019 Application Form

Read ahead to know all steps for form filling.

Candidates who will apply for the JEE Main 2019 will have to fill an online application form in a procedure given below:

Step 1 – Candidate will have to login to the official website and have to click on the NTA exams to go to the JEE Mains under the engineering section of NTA exams.On the page that will lead,candidates have to click on to registration to apply.

Step 4- After that, the candidates will have to click on to Fill application form.

Step 3 – After that, the candidates will have to read the given instructions carefully and have to click on the checkbox and proceed to apply online.

Step 3 – Now, the candidate will have to fill all the required information in the application form. The details being asked will be as follows:

  • Nationality
  • State of Eligibility
  • State where Class 12th  School/NIOS Study Centre Located
  • Identification Type
  • Aadhaar Number
  • Candidate’s Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Gender

Personal Details – Candidate’s Name, Father/Mother Name, State of Eligibility, Category, DOB, Nationality, Gender and Place of Residence.

Academic Details – Year of Passing Class 10th and 12th Exams, School Board, and Percentage of Class 12th Exams etc.

Mailing Address Details – Country, State, District, Address, Locality, City/Town/Village, Email ID and Contact Number.

Choose Password – Candidates will have to create a password, enter a security pin and enter the Next button.

After successfully generating the password and confirming the email and phone number of the candidates, they will be asked to upload their photograph and signature in the application form. The photograph and signature are to be uploaded according to a particular instruction as given in the form. If any instruction is not followed properly the form may get disqualified.


  • The photograph will have to be coloured passport size with name and date.
  • It should the scanned image of the photograph in jpg or jpeg format.


  • In the online application form, applicants need to upload their as well as signature of their Parent/ Guardian.
  • It will have to be on a white page only.

Step 4– Candidate will have to pay the fees by entering on the ‘Pay Exam Fee’ link.

Step 5 – Candidate will have to choose the mode of payment which will be Credit/Debit Card or e-Challan of Syndicate/Canara/ICICI/HDFC Bank.

Step 6 – After the successful payment, the candidates will receive the acknowledgement page.

Step 7 – Candidates will have to take a print out of the acknowledgement page for future purpose.

  1. sir, i have filled the form as a general in my first attemp,can i fill the form as OBC in 2nd attempt (I have caste certificate)?

      Yes definitely you can change your category from general to OBC in second attempt. You have to attach the certificate with documents.

  3. In my Aadhar both name and surname is mentioned. But in my 11th class certificate only initial of my surname is written. So while filling up the application form, do i need to fill up name as per aadhar or as per 11th class certificate. i finished 11th and presently studying 12th. please clarify.

    • you can fill the aadhaar card enrollment number too. Else giving other identification documents like passport,ration card,voter id or anything.

  6. Hi Sir,

    I had failed in class 12th last year 2018 and will appear again this year 2019. In the form , in the academic details section there is a question ” Year of Passing or Appearing Class 12th / Qualifying
    Examination” , what should I select in that , wheather it would be 2018 or 2019. If i select 2018 then it asks “Whether appearing for improvement Examination
    of class 12th”
    Please suggest what should fill.

  7. Hi.. I am in college 1st year and I will give jee main exam in Jan 2019. In the column “name of the school/college from where passed/appearing”, should I fill school name or college name?

  8. Hello what if i have entered OBC category in the form but at the time of counselling I am unable to give the caste certificate so will I be considered in the general category or be cancelled?
