JEST sample papers are free for both subjects: Physics and Theoretical Computer Science (TCS). The official Physics sample paper follows the pattern JEST introduced in 2026, and the TCS sample is an official past paper from IMSc. What is the JEST exam pattern?
JEST changed its question pattern for 2026. The Physics paper is a 3-hour, 100-mark test with 40 questions:
| Part | Questions | Marks for correct answer | Wrong answer |
|---|---|---|---|
| Part A | 10 multiple choice | +1 | -1/3 |
| Part B | 20 multiple choice | +3 | -1 |
| Part C | 10 numerical answer | +3 | No negative marking |
TCS has 25 multiple-choice questions in Part A (+3, -1) and 9 questions in Part B, where your best three 8-mark and best two 13-mark answers count. The JEST 2027 rules are not announced yet; check the 2027 notice on jest.org.in.
