Application Form 2017

Application Form can be filled online through the official website of Nagaland University. Candidates are requested to read the complete instruction for filling the application form. The direct link to fill the application form is also given below.

Prospectus can be obtained from the University Campuses at Lumami, Meriema & Dimapur on cash payment through University Challan 150/- (Rupees one hundred and fifty) only for SC/ST and 200/- (Rupees Two Hundred) only for General category candidates.

Instruction for Filling the Application Form

Step-1 ONLINE FORM SUBMISSION

  • Candidates are requested to go through the online admission guidelines carefully before accessing/filling up the Admission Form.
  • Aspiring Candidates/Applicants must register to submit the admission form and view submitted data. An activation link will be sent to the E-Mail ID provided during the time of registration. Registration process will be complete only if the candidate clicks on the activation link sent to the registered E-mail.
  • Login with the registered login/email ID. Users who have already registered may login using the same link.
  • To access the form, click Apply Online.
  • All the Fields marked with * are mandatory.
  • While uploading documents/certificates, the applicant must ensure that documents are attached properly by clicking Upload button.
  • Fill in all the required details and hit  ‘submit.’
  • Download/Take a printout of the submitted form (if desired).

NOTE: In the event of duplicate submissions to the same Department, the first submission will be treated as final.

Step-2 DECLARATION/INTIMATION OF SELECTED CANDIDATES LIST

Merit list shall be prepared as per University rules in the respective departments and the short-listed names will be displayed on the University website and Notice Board.

Step-3 ONLINE ADMISSION

Short-listed candidates may/can pay their admission fees through State Bank of India Online Payment Portal.

Eligibility Criteria

For Ph.D Programme

The admission to the Ph. D Programme is done at the beginning of new Academic Session, Candidates with at least 55% marks in the master degree in the relevant subject are required to appear for an entrance test followed by interview which will be conducted by the respective departments.

For M.Phil Programme

Candidates with at least 55% (50% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST) marks in the master degree in the subject concerned need to appear for an entrance test followed by interview which will be conducted by the respective department(s) offering the course

For Post Graduate Courses

An applicant must have passed three-year Degree Course with Honours/Major with 50% marks and for General stream students of Arts, Commerce and science with 55% in the concerned subject in which admission is sought.

Applicants who have graduated from Colleges (Private/Govt./Autonomous) affiliated to Nagaland University shall be entitled to 10% weightage of bonus marks over others. For instance, a candidate who had passed out from any college affiliated to Nagaland University with 60% marks in graduation will get 6% as additional weightage and his/her total percentage will become 66% while drawing the merit index of selection.

Selection Process

Ph.D

Candidates will be selected according to merit, determined after giving suitable weightage to the following:

  • Persons with M.Phil Degree from this University
  • Students securing an average “A” grade of 60% and above in the course work of M. Phil Programme of this University
  • Percentage of marks in Master Degree or equivalent (at-least 50% in case SC/ ST candidates)
  • Performance in the test and interview

M.Phil

Candidates will be selected according to merit, determined after giving suitable weightage to the following:

  • Percentage of marks in Master Degree or equivalent (at-least 50% weightage)
  • Performance in the test and/or interview

The admission will be finalized on the basis of the number of seats available and performance of the candidate. A candidate will be assigned a Supervisor by the department at the time of admission

PG Courses

Applicants who have graduated from Colleges (Private/Govt./Autonomous) affiliated to Nagaland University shall be entitled to 10% weightage of bonus marks over others.
