Odisha NEET PG Counselling 2026 (PG Medical/DNB/Post MBBS Diploma Counselling 2026-27) fills state quota MD, MS, Diploma and DNB seats in Odisha on NEET PG 2026 merit. The PG Counselling Committee at MKCG Medical College, Brahmapur runs it under DMET Odisha. Registration ran from 12 to 18 October 2026, and the provisional merit list was published on 28 October. Round 1 choice locking is from 1 to 3 November 2026 (tentative).

Odisha NEET PG Counselling 2026 Important Dates

Online registration ran from 10 AM on 12 October to 11:55 PM on 18 October 2026, and the provisional merit list was published on 28 October 2026. As per the Round 1 schedule of 27 October 2026, choice locking runs from 1 to 3 November 2026, allotment letters come from 5 November, and reporting at MKCG is on 6 and 7 November. The schedule is tentative and may change.

Which seats are filled through Odisha NEET PG counselling?

The committee fills state quota MD/MS, Post-MBBS NBEMS Diploma, Post-Diploma DNB and Post-MBBS DNB seats in Odisha’s government medical colleges, plus all seats, including management quota, at HITECH Medical College Bhubaneswar, HITECH Medical College Rourkela and DRIEMS Institute of Health Sciences, Tangi (Cuttack). All India Quota seats are filled separately through MCC NEET PG counselling.

State quota seats are split 50:50 between In-service and Direct candidates. State quota Diploma seats are only for candidates in regular government service.

How to apply for Odisha NEET PG Counselling 2026?

You pay the counselling fee, register and fill the online application on the DMET Odisha PG counselling portal, then attend physical document verification at MKCG Medical College, Brahmapur. Only candidates whose documents are verified appear in the merit list.

1. Pay the Rs 2,500 counselling fee through SBI Collect (State: Odisha, Institution: Convener PG Medical Counselling Committee, Category: PG MED APPLICATION FEE) and keep the receipt.
2. Complete Preliminary registration by 11:55 PM on 18 October 2026. This creates your username and password; do not share them.
3. Log in on the candidate login page, fill the online application, upload your photo and signature, submit it and print the form.
4. Attend document verification at 650 LT, MKCG Medical College, Brahmapur on your batch date (set by your state application number), with all originals and one set of self-attested copies.
5. Check the provisional seat matrix (26 October) and merit list (28 October 2026). E-mail any grievance to the Convenor by 2 PM the next day.
6. Lock your choices of course and college online in Round 1 once it is notified, then download the allotment-cum-admission letter and report to the Convenor with the admission fee and your original College Leaving Certificate.

If you qualified NEET PG 2026 but your name is not on the portal because you did not give your Odisha residence or Odisha MBBS details in the NEET PG form, e-mail a representation with proof to the Convenor, as set out in Notice No. 32.

Who can apply for Odisha NEET PG Counselling 2026?

You can apply if you have an MBBS from an NMC-recognised institution, qualified NEET PG 2026 and meet Odisha’s domicile rule. The 2026-27 guidelines set these conditions:

• You are a permanent resident of Odisha with an online resident certificate that carries a QR code, or you are from another state but passed MBBS from an Odisha Govt medical college under the 15% All India Quota.
• You qualified NEET PG 2026 with the qualifying marks set by NMC.
• You complete the one-year compulsory rotatory internship by 30 September 2026, or the date notified by MCC/NBEMS.
• You are registered with the Odisha Medical Council or NMC.
• Candidates already in a PG course can take part only after paying the bond penalty set in the guidelines.
• OBC (central list, non-creamy layer) candidates of NEET PG can take part but are placed in the unreserved merit list.

How is the Odisha NEET PG merit list prepared?

The merit list ranks candidates by NEET PG 2026 score, and in-service doctors get extra weightage for service in remote and vulnerable areas, up to 30% of the marks they scored.

• An In-service candidate is employed by the Odisha Government, an Odisha or central PSU in Odisha, or defence services in Odisha, with 3 years of service by 31 March 2026. A Direct candidate is unemployed or has less than 3 years of such service.
• Doctors working before 21 March 2016 get 10% of marks per year in listed areas. Those who joined later get 2.5%, 5%, 7.5% or 10% per year for V1, V2, V3 or V4 areas.
• Service in the 19 ESI hospitals and dispensaries listed in the guidelines also counts for weightage.
• No weightage is given in the merit list for Diploma courses.
• In-service applicants submit a service certificate in the Annexure-A format, signed by the CDM & PHO or the institution’s Superintendent.

What is the reservation in Odisha PG medical seats?

Odisha reserves state quota PG seats for ST, SC and SEBC candidates, with horizontal quotas inside each category.

Management quota seats in private colleges have no reservation. ST, SC and SEBC candidates cannot claim EWS, and PwD certificates must come from an MCC/DGHS-notified medical board.

Which documents are needed for Odisha NEET PG document verification?

Bring all original certificates and one set of self-attested copies of each to document verification. The checklist in Notice No. 38 is:

• SBI Collect fee receipt and the signed printout of your online application
• NEET PG 2026 admit card and scorecard
• Photo ID: Aadhaar, Voter ID, PAN, passport or driving licence
• Class 10 certificate showing date of birth
• MBBS mark sheets and degree or provisional pass certificate
• Internship completion certificate and updated medical registration certificate
• Permanent resident certificate with QR code, or proof of MBBS from an Odisha Govt medical college
• Category certificate (ST/SC/SEBC-NCL/Ex-servicemen/PwD), Green Card or EWS certificate, if you claim one
• Service certificate for in-service candidates, and an authorization letter if someone attends for you

Handwritten or illegible certificates are not accepted. Resident, caste, SEBC and EWS certificates must be the online-generated versions, and SEBC and EWS certificates must be issued on or after 1 April 2026 (document rules).

How do the Odisha NEET PG counselling rounds work?

There are four rounds: Rounds 1 and 2 are online, and the mop-up and stray vacancy rounds are held in person. The schedule follows MCC and Supreme Court directions.

• In Rounds 1 and 2 you lock any number of course and college choices; seats are allotted on merit and choice. You can choose float or freeze in Round 2.
• Candidates admitted in Round 1 are upgraded against seats left vacant by non-joining.
• After Round 2 you cannot resign a state seat to join All India Quota counselling, and a seat held after Round 2 bars you from later rounds.
• No fresh registration is allowed in later rounds unless the NEET PG cut-off is lowered or new seats are approved.
• In the mop-up round, in-service seats are filled before direct seats, and Diploma seats are filled only after MD/MS seats.
• In the stray vacancy round, all unfilled seats become general seats; admission needs the original CLC and the admission fee on the spot.

What are the private college fees and bond rules?

Private college PG fees in Odisha are set by the Government and are much higher than Govt college fees. These are the 2026-27 annual fees:

• Candidates admitted to Govt college seats sign a post-PG service bond on non-judicial stamp paper of at least Rs 21, with two sureties.
• Resigning after admission costs Rs 10 lakh as a penalty plus the stipend or salary received, and the admission fee is not refunded.
• Surrendering a seat as allowed under MCC rules returns 90% of the admission fees.
