TISSNET Eligibility Criteria
Candidates can check the eligibility criteria for TISSNET below.
- Candidates are required to have completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree of minimum of 3 or 4 years duration or its equivalent (under the 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 or 10+2+2+1 year course pattern or any other pattern fulfilling the mandatory requirements of 15 years formal education) from a university recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of India.
- Candidates who can successfully get their final year eligible degree (including all examinations and internships, if applicable) by Monday, June 8, year of admission, are also eligible to apply.
- At the time of applying candidates with 3 year degree program are required to have passed in all the subjects for the 1st to 4th semesters and candidates with 4 year degree programs must have passed in all the subjects for 1st to 6th semester.
New Changes In Selection Process of TISSNET Admission
TISS has made some changes in selection process for its MA programme admission. Candidates can check the new selection process for TISSNET admission below.
- TISS provides the admission to its Masters Programmes through a two-stage process with three components.
- In the first stage, candidates are required to appear for the TISS National Entrance Test. It helps TISS in shortlisting candidates for Stage 2 based on differential cut-offs for different programs depending on the number of seats, a number of applicants and the scores secured by the candidates.
- Now all the selected candidates of TISSNET can appear for stage 2 of TISS which consists of Personal Interview.
- The scores of the candidates at TISS-MAT and PI rounds shall be in aggregate in the ration 60:40 for the final selection of the candidates.

About TISS
Tata Institute of Social Sciences is situated in Mumbai, India. It has four campuses situated in Mumbai, Tuljapur, Guwahati, and Hyderabad. TISS offers various UG and PG courses to candidates in its different campuses. TISS was established in the year 1936. It was established as Sir Dorbaji Tata Graduate School of Social Work. It got its current name in the year 1944.
It was recognized as Deemed to be University in the year 1964.
