TISSNET 2027 will not be held. The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) has not run its own entrance test since TISS NET 2023. For 2027-28 it admits Master’s students on CUET PG 2027 scores, tentatively 1 to 25 March 2027, and on CAT 2026 scores for four Mumbai programmes.

This page explains how TISS Master’s admission works now that TISSNET is not held: the CUET PG and CAT routes, dates, fee, eligibility and merit lists.

Is TISSNET 2027 being held?
No. TISS NET 2023, held on 25 February 2023 with its result on 23 March 2023, was the last edition of the test. TISS has not announced any TISSNET since then.
For 2026-27, TISS based admission to all programmes in its PG brochure on the CUET PG 2026 score with 100% weightage, with no reflection test, group discussion or interview. For 2027-28, four programmes at the Mumbai campus will select through CAT 2026 instead. See CUET PG 2027 for the test itself.
TISSNET 2027 Important Dates
TISS has not yet published its 2027-28 calendar for the CUET PG route, so those dates are expected months based on 2026. The CAT 2026 exam date is confirmed.

How to Apply for TISS Admission 2027 Through CUET PG
You apply in two steps: first take CUET PG 2027 in the paper that NTA maps to your TISS programme, then fill a separate TISS application on its Samarth portal when it opens, expected in May or June 2027.
Apply Online for TISSNET 2027
Applications for TISSNET 2027 are expected in December 2026.
- Check the TISS PG brochure to see which CUET PG paper code your programme needs.
- Register for CUET PG 2027 on the NTA portal, expected in December 2026, and take the test.
- When TISS opens its 2027-28 registration, sign up on the TISS Samarth portal with your CUET PG details.
- Choose up to three programmes across Mumbai, Tuljapur, Hyderabad and Guwahati in one form.
- Upload your photo, signature and category or income certificates, and pay the fee online.
- Track merit lists, acceptance and fee deadlines in your admission portal login.

These are the 2026-27 fees, plus bank charges, and the fee is not refunded. Fill only one form: TISS cancels all applications of a candidate who submits more than one.
Which TISS programmes use CAT 2026 scores for 2027-28?
Four programmes at the TISS Mumbai campus will shortlist or select candidates for 2027-28 on CAT 2026 scores:
- MA in Human Resource Management and Labour Relations (HRM&LR)
- MA in Organisation Development, Change and Leadership (ODCL)
- Master of Hospital Administration (MHA)
- M.Sc. in Analytics
CAT 2026 registration has closed, and the exam is on 29 November 2026; see CAT 2026. TISS says the IIMs have no role in its selection, and it will post the detailed selection criteria on its admissions portal.
Who can apply for TISS Master’s programmes in 2027?
You need a bachelor’s degree, and each programme sets its own conditions in the brochure. Typical 2026-27 rules were:
- A 3-year or 4-year bachelor’s degree, or a bachelor’s with Honours or Honours with Research, for most MA and M.Sc. programmes.
- Programme-specific degrees for some courses, such as a law degree for the LL.M.
- A valid CUET PG score in the paper mapped to that programme.
- Admission stays provisional until you submit your degree certificate and final mark sheet by the given date.
Seats are reserved as per Government of India norms, including 27% for OBC-NCL (Central List).
How does TISS prepare its merit lists?
TISS first draws up an Open Merit List from CUET PG scores for each programme without considering category, then a Category-wise Merit List for the reserved seats.
- A tie on CUET PG score is broken by the higher CGPA in the bachelor’s degree.
- Several merit lists follow on the same rules: in 2026 there were six, from 24 June to 16 July.
- Each list has its own acceptance and fee deadline, and you can join only one programme.
- Cut-offs differ by category; no single cut-off applies to all.
In 2026 a separate non-CUET test was held on 30 July only to fill seats left vacant after the merit lists.

The 2026-27 brochure listed Master’s programmes at four campuses. Some examples:

What was TISSNET, and do its old papers still help?
TISSNET was TISS’s own computer-based entrance test for its Master’s programmes. The 2023 paper had sections on General Awareness, Verbal Reasoning, and Mathematics and Logical Reasoning, in a 100-minute slot from 2:00 to 3:40 PM.
Its old papers are now an archive. They still help with general awareness and reasoning practice, but CUET PG and CAT follow their own patterns. You can see them on the TISSNET question papers page.
