XAT 2016 introduced a small penalty for leaving too many questions blank: 0.05 mark for each unattempted question beyond 13.

What was the XAT 2016 marking scheme?
Each wrong answer lost one fourth of a mark. Beyond 13 unattempted questions, each further unattempted question cost 0.05 mark.
Did XAT 2016 have an essay?
Yes. Part II had an essay along with 25 General Knowledge questions, for which the booklet advised 35 minutes.
Did the XAT 2016 GK marks count for shortlisting?
No. The booklet says GK marks were used only at final selection, not for shortlisting candidates for interview or GD.
